Asus developed EzLink as a means to use an "easy-to-use" USB interface to send a digital video signal from the PC to the monitor without the need for additional graphics adapters. With EzLink, you are able to work with as many as six Asus EzLink monitors for multi-screen applications.

Today we are taking a look at the new Asus 4870 X2 which is set to push the performance boundaries even further, these preoverclocked cards are lovingly referred to by Asus as the "TOP" versions. This card has enhanced clocks with the cores increased from 750 to 790mhz and the GDDR5 modules increased from 3600 to 3660mhz (900 to 915).

NVIDIA launched the GeForce GTX 280 and GTX 260 graphics cards on June 17, 2008. Both are based on the NVIDIA GT200 GPU which uses NVIDIA's improved, second-generation unified architecture. As one of NVIDIA's biggest retail partner, ASUS has no less than six different GTX 260 models. They consist of three versions, each available with or without HDMI support. The three major versions are the basic ENGTX260, the ENGTX260/G game bundle kit and the top-of-the-line ENGTX260 TOP overclocked edition. The card we are reviewing is the ASUS ENGTX260 TOP, specifically the non-HDMI version.

Asus is one of the most respected companies by computer enthusiasts. Everyone knows them more as a powerhouse in the motherboard industry but they do dabble in wide range of hardware, including CPU coolers, like the Lion Square that we will be examining today. At first glance it does seem like Asus is trying pack a little bit of flare in a package that can hopefully keep up with top tier air coolers on the market. Asus is apparently trying to present an eye-catching product for enthusiasts that are looking for something beyond the typical bland. If they can do that and still sufficiently chill our CPU then many enthusiasts could be impressed. Let's test this thing out and see if you will be impressed.

To dual or not to dual? - that is the question. Yes, yes, I can hear you all yelling, "DUAL DUAL DUAL," and to a certain extent I agree. So maybe the real question should be, "To dual with single GPU's or dual GPU's." The EAH3850 X2 1GB may be a reason to consider a dual GPU card. The main feature is that Crossfire has already been enabled onboard and is ready to go out of the box. The 3850 GPU has a core clock of 668MHZ and the DD3 memory runs at 1.65GHz. This combination allows DVI resolution to reach 2560x1600, which means it's time for me to get a new higher resolution monitor.

The lion in pre-modern China is believed to have powerful mythical protective powers. This has traditionally encouraged its use in front of Chinese Imperial palaces, temples, emperors' tombs, government offices and homes of the wealthy. Asus have used the lion legend on a heatsink design that sports four 8mm heat-pipes ready to be installed on any of today's CPU's and grace the inside of any case.

The Republic of Gamers line represents the best of the best that ASUS produces and always features cutting edge specs. The latest ROG product to hit the streets is heavily anticiapated Maximus II Formula motherboard. This board makes its presence felt quickly in the enthusiast market by bringing the heat in every possible way with the new P45 Express chipset, 1600MHz front side bus support, CrossFire compatibility, PCIe 2.0, eSATA, 16GB of DDR2-1200 support and an X-Fi sound card. Very nice! Keep reading as I throw the Maximus II Formula on the test bench for some sexy time and to see if this is one motherboard that can live up to the hype.

Speaking of PCs with three or more graphics cards, they are for hardcore gamers. Percentage of such users is very low. Nevertheless, ASUS does not complain about the lack of attention to this motherboard. Most users consider buying this model (and other similar products) for computers that can be upgraded in future.

AMD recently introduced the HD 4870 and it certainly made their competition revise their pricing immediately. While it's AMD's top-of-the-line GPU, lately AMD has been focusing more on lesser priced products that deliver excellent value for performance. But they obviously wish to compete in the fastest graphics card category and for that, they've been using dual GPU based cards.
