For years computer case manufacturers have walked a tight rope between decreasing fan noise and increasing air flow. With many cases still being cooled by a plethora of noisy fans, the on-going journey for a "silent PC" continues. CoolerMaster continues this quest with their latest PC case called the Cosmos. This mammoth steel case uses soundproofing materials and a "sound barrier" design to reduce vibrations and build a quiet environment for your rig.

In 2004, Cooler Master released its Stacker STC-T01, considered a legend and pioneer of case design. Its unprecedented 11 drive bays, dual power supply mounts, build quality, and simple but elegant design gave users a level of flexibility and working space, which destroyed copycats down the road. Among these copycats were the Raidmax Katana, Xion Stacker, and Thermaltake Armor; the Armor was the most successful of them. However, it still lagged behind the original Stacker in almost all aspects. But this is all ancient history. Three years later, Cooler Master has unveiled its new flagship chassis, the Cooler Master Cosmos 1000. You would expect it to be just another no holds barred ultimate performance chassis, but Cooler Master defines this case as "Performance Meets Silence." It seems like Cooler Master has upped the ante this time...

Cooler Master's latest case is the Cosmos RC-1000, this case aims to offer very quiet operation and with its four big aluminum handles the design of this case definitely stands out from the crowd. The Cooler Master Cosmos case features a special airflow system, it has one intake fan one the bottom and uses three outtake fans. The firm says this creates a negative pressure effect which will draw in more cool outdoor air into the interior to keep all your components cool. Besides airflow Cooler Master also thought about soundproofing, cable management and tool-free design. In the next few pages I will discuss all of these aspects and see if it works as advertised.

This is one of the most well made cases around and is designed to reduce noise in your room and keep your components cool at the same time. If you thought the Cooler Master Stacker series of PC cases were nice looking, wait to you check out the new Cooler Master COSMOS. As soon as you pop the side panels off you notice a large black plastic VGA duct that helps blow cool air over your video card or cards. The duct even has an aluminum plate on it that says Cooler Master. This entire case is set up with one goal in mind, to keep your rig cool.

Cooler Master has definitely made it easy to get into watercooling with the Aquagate S1. With everything ready to go out of the box, it's as easy to install as a typical air cooled heatsink and still manages to keep an overclocked processor cool. The small water pump is quiet and the radiator fan is adjustable so noise levels can be lowered when the computer is idle. For those with windowed cases, the system will be a nice looking addition with its blue LED fan and transparent tubing with blue coolant.

All in all, I would say that the Aquagate S1 is perfect for those who are thinking about water cooling but don't have the time, experience, or the courage to set up a custom system.

Do you frequently experience that after using notebook for long period of time, it seriously heats, due to simple reason its air flow is on the lower side? Of course, given it is insufficiently distant, there is no enough air, and its temperature constantly rises. Cooler Master has solution - NotePal W1, widescreen notebook cooler!

Cooler Master's Real Power Pro 750W has performed admirably throughout several days of testing. And it looks good doing it. I like the finish a lot, but there is some very good performance to compliment it. It's quiet, stable and compact with plenty of power and nice sleeving. This seems to be a quality unit that should support all but the most power-hungry systems.
