HP's m-series computers are designed for mainstream home users with rigorous multimedia demands, such as watching HD movies, recording TV, and maybe even some light gaming. HP calls the m9200t an "entertainment powerhouse," and though we probably wouldn't go that far, it's safe to say it's a well-built machine with more than enough power to satisfy the majority of home users. Its biggest flaw is that it includes typical big-box bloatware and toolbars, and is a bit generic in terms of its design and software build.

Today Hardwarelogic takes an in depth look at the HP Pavilion dv6500t Special Edition notebook computer. This 15.4" widescreen laptop was considered by Hewlett-Packard to be their flagship product of 2007, boasting a uniquely styled outer casing, and an aesthetically pleasing interior, complete with touch-sensitive media keys and an Altec Lansing speaker system. The "Special Edition" designation for HPs higher end 15.4" notebooks still continue in 2008, in the form of the dv6700t, which incorporates Intel's newest 45nm Penryn mobile processor technology. Let's take a closer look at the dv6500t Special Edition and put this bad boy through its paces!

The HP iPAQ 310 tries to be fifteen different things in one, including a GPS receiver, PDA, MP3 player, video player, handheld gaming device, and more. Sadly, it's a jack-of-all-trades device that is not very good at any of these things. We'd cut it some slack if just the GPS worked as expected, but sadly even that functionality is plagued with issues. The overall main issue with this product is that regardless of what feature you are trying to use, it is not user friendly, and in most cases reading the manual won't help since it's remarkably incomplete and lacking information on a wide array of topics.

The Photosmart C4280 has a lot going for it. It's compact, easy-to-use, doesn't cost that much to run and produces above-average print quality, relatively quickly. Where it scores over its main competitors, though, is in having a colour LCD display which is used sensibly for both control and previewing of photos. At the price, the other All-in-Ones don't offer this ease-of-use feature.

The HP Compaq 2510p is the company's smallest and lightest laptop. It also gives Lenovo a run for their money.

The Photosmart A826 is a lovely little machine for anybody wanting a standalone photo printer in their living room. It excels at producing photos cheaply and quickly with a minimum of fuss but even so, as £173, it's over priced.

The w2408 has impressive technical specs, a 4-port USB 2.0 hub and costs a very reasonable $600 USD.

With its HDX series, HP has taken the desktop replacement concept and raised the bar considerably. As such it's a very attractive machine and though the lack of a Full HD display to match its HD DVD drive may be disappointing, the superlative design and excellent performance more than make up for this failing.

The integrated speakers are rear-facing units so you don't have to look at speaker grills on the front of your display. The speakers sound good with decent mids and highs, but lack bass for my tastes. The display stand on the HP w2207 22-inch widescreen monitor adjusts for height only.

The HP Pavilion HDX laptop is one of the largest and meanest systems we have seen, and it comes with an attitude!

After HP's acquisition of Voodoo PC last year, many speculated that the company's entrance into the high-end gaming PC market was imminent. After all, why else would they have bought Voodoo, right? But since then, not much has changed. It seemed as if it was business as usual at both HP and Voodoo. HP was secretly working on their own gaming PC, however, and its codename was Blackbird. Despite what you may be thinking, the Blackbird wasn't being designed solely by the newly acquired engineers from Voodoo. In fact, the Blackbird project was well underway before the acquisition was finalized. The two did collaborate on a design though, that ultimately became the product we're featuring on HotHardware today, the Blackbird 002 - a high-end, fully customizable machine that's poised to do battle with the best gaming systems the industry has to offer...

We're writing to let you all know that we've just posted a new article at HotHardware in which we evaluate the features, accessories, and performance of Hewlett Packard's relatively affordable w2207 22" Widescreen LCD monitor. Unlike most other 22" widescreens, the HP w2207 features a high-gloss BrightView screen coating for enhanced contrast and more vibrant colors and it's also compatible with HP's "easy clip" accessories. Head on over to the site and check it out?

The LaserJet P2014 is a good, solid, no-nonsense mono laser printer which will be a useful asset in a home office or small business. While it's not the cheapest mono laser to run, it's quick, particularly for the first page out, and produces high quality pages of both text and, more unusually, greyscale photo images.
