Changing Office's layout is a big deal - it's like taking the desktop away from Windows. It's still the same system under the hood, but a huge part of how you used to use it is now gone. I think the best way to describe working with it is like learning a dance - you know that you can move your body, and that there is no reason it can't do that, but the attempt provides little more than a laugh for your friends as you fall on your face. It takes time, patience, and lots of practice to not look like a complete buffoon.

However, if you want an inexpensive way to get into the HD DVD revolution, then the Xbox 360 HD DVD player is the way to go - assuming of course you already own an Xbox 360. If you don't have the game console and you don't want the game console, you'll probably be better served with a standalone HD DVD player. For the gamers out there - this a great easy solution for the here and now.

Are you tired of that constantly nagging wire hanging from your headset to your wireless controller while playing on Xbox Live? If so, Microsoft has an alternative for you with the official Xbox 360 wireless headset. But this wireless freedom comes with a steep price of around $59.99, so read on to find out if this headset is worth the cost.

Now that it's out, you can expect more games to support the camera thereby additional a whole new dimension to gaming on the 360 console (not to mention a whole new level of ridiculousness!). It's a great feature to add to your Xbox 360 if you're into having your face on the Internet. Of course if you enjoy anonymity, then the Live Vision camera is NOT for you.

The new revision has been updated with a swoopier shell, ambidextrous use and a fricken' laser. The mouse is molded from a very attractive black metalflake plastic. It's accented with silver buttons, one to each side, and silver trim around the scroll wheel. Not to mention the rear chrome laser badge and Microsoft branding.

All in all, the Xbox 360 is an impressive piece of hardware. Microsoft has really succeeded in pushing forward the technology in game consoles. With High Definition, wireless remotes, and state of the art technology, the Xbox 360 is a definite winner. However, we suggest waiting it out until the PS3 and Revolution are released, and then choosing the best console. Of course, not everyone likes to play the waiting game and if you simply have to have the latest greatest then the Xbox 360 offers exactly that at the moment...

There are two versions of the Xbox 360 available, the basic Core system and the Deluxe package - I received the latter for review. Inside the very nice packaging you'll find the X360 itself, complete with the 20GB (removable) hard disk attached. You also get a wireless controller, an HD ready component video cable - this will also carry composite video for those with normal TVs, a SCART adapter, a remote control - complete with Media Center button, a headset for Xbox Live use and four AA batteries. For £279.99 that's a pretty good bundle...

Let's take a look at the hardware specifications for the Xbox 360. It's no secret that this console is a powerful machine - much of the hardware specifications were released to the general public earlier this year. Processing wise, the 360 utilizes three IBM custom designed PowerPC based processor cores running at 3.2 GHz each. You get two hardware threads per core which translates to six hardware threads in total across the entire system. Graphics wise, the Xbox 360 employs a custom designed ATI Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) capable of processing 500 million triangles per second. There are 48 parallel shader pipelines within the GPU that game developers can optimize to obtain the proper game performance that they want...

The Microsoft Media Center keyboard is well built, neatly laid out, comfortable to type on and affordable. The "nipple" pointer could do with some refinement but that's the only downside to a great piece of hardware...

The Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 is a serious keyboard for safety and comfort conscious touch typists. Although awkward to use at first especially with the reverse slope attachment, I have found myself able to type for longer periods of time without discomfort and have a better posture when typing as opposed to my usual slouch permitted by any other keyboard. The keys are of good quality and are quiet yet tactile, and the curved gull-wing alignment of the keys conforms to the arc of my fingers rather nicely...
