"As part of Pioneer's new audition series, the NAS3 represents the company's no-compromise attitude toward digital music playback. Outfitted with a rigid cabinet, premium finish, powerful amplifiers, proprietary drivers and Bluetooth wireless capability, the NAS3 seems to have what it takes to compete with some of the more esoteric of the high-end iPod speaker docks available today. In this review we put the NAS3 through its paces to see how its performance stacks up next to the competition."

Due to the limitations of current Blu-ray media you won't be able to push the BDR-203BK's BD-R facilities to its rated specification, but you can rest assured that its performance and reliability is amongst the best out there. If you're a movie junkie or backup a lot of data to disc, the BDR-203BK is one of the best optical drives you can get. CyberLinks' Blu-Ray Disc Suite 6 is also a joy to use.

As most of you know, the highest speed DVD±R media available to the consumer market is 16 speed, so Pioneer must be doing something special with their 20x DVD±R Re-Writer. According to Pioneer, if using 16x media, you should be able to see up to 25 per cent extra read and write speed.

Today I am going to be looking at a product from a company that isn't usually associated with the computer hardware industry. The company is Pioneer and the product is one of their new DVD rewriter's the DVR-116DBK. Coming from a big household name like Pioneer I expect it to be cutting edge, even though Pioneer isn't generally known for computer hardware.

Geeks provided us with todays review product, we are going to take a look at a Blu-Ray player that also is a dvd burner. If you don't know what Blu-ray is I recommend you Google for it as it is the new format that will replace DVD in the near future. Blu-ray players are dropping in price as the become more mainstream, we are going to compare picture quality today and also see how loud and how well this product works.

Pioneer has introduced a system that appeals to not only the distinguished ear of the audiophile, but to those that are willing to spend a little more for a lot more sound. Pioneer's X-Z9 is an all-in-one stereo solution that brings audio fidelity into the digital home with its Apple iPod interface, XM and Sirius satellite radio support and networking capability so you can stream music from your home PC.

Pioneer has made a very solid, very inexpensive product and the brand name should certainly go a long way to assure the quality and investment is something that's worthwhile, if you're getting into HD movies. It does what it says on the tin and for once even the retail package is at least partially compelling if you don't already have some good disc burning software and Blu-ray playback software. It's still not cheap enough to become an automatic up-sell purchase over a standard SATA DVD-RW drive, however if you are after some Blu in your life, don't pay any more than you have to.

Pioneer has come out with all guns blazing with the DVR-LX70D and really hits the target. The array of features on offer is mind-blowing, the superb user interface makes it a joy to use and the quality of recordings is second to none. There are a few minor grievances and omissions but nothing that stops us hailing this recorder as a complete triumph.

The very worst thing that can be said about the 428XD is that its overall impact isn't quite as great as that of its 50in 508XD sibling. But that's because picture quality this good just looks better on a bigger screen; there's nothing actually wrong with the 428XD. In fact, if a 42in screen size or £1,600 represent your maximum extent of your TV ambition, the 428XD will deliver the goods more successfully than any other flat TV range before.

Overall the LX70 makes us sad. For while a big part of us wants to jump up and down and shout from the rooftops about how unprecedentedly great its HD pictures are, another big part of us tragically has no choice but to accept that unless you've got enough money to upgrade from this deck in just a few months time, when more fully specified Blu-ray models start to come along, you're probably better off leaving the LX70 on the shelf.

Normally we like to counterbalance our praise of even the very finest TVs with a negative point or two. But try as we might, we simply can't think of anything bad to say about the Pioneer's pictures at all. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that Pioneer is flogging the screen at what has to be considered quite a premium price point, the only problem the brand might have with the 508XD is making enough of them.
