"While it's always nice to review peripherals from the big boys, there are many other smaller manufacturers putting together products with unique features that are also interesting to take a look at. Today we're reviewing a gaming mouse from a company known as JSCO and it's designed for "silent" gaming. "

?At CES every solid state drive manufacturer we met with was raving about the SandForce controller, the new controller that is going to bring blazing speeds to solid state drives and bring current solid state drives in the budget category with these new drives being in the enthusiast category. The controller from SandForce is the SF-1200 which is a small step down from the enterprise SF-1500 controller. Corsair has designed a new line of solid state drives around this controller called the Force Series, which is available in 100GB and 200GB versions. Today we will be looking at the 100GB version whi ch boasts very impressive very impressive read and write speeds at 285MB/s and 275MB/s respectively. Let?s check it out!"

"The Corsair Force and Reactor 120GB SSDs with SandForce SF-1200 and JMicron-JMF612 controllers arrived Technic3D. New available in 120GB and 240GB configurations. Results in extreme performance with up to 285MB/s sequential read and 275MB/s sequential write speeds? We will check this against other SSDs from Intel and Western Digital in Windows 7."

The ASUS Rampage III Extreme is the most highly featured board I?ve ever seen. With RC Bluetooth and ROG Connect, you can connect external devices like cell phones and laptops to overclock the system externally just like a race car driver team. ASUS also brings SATA 6 Gb/second and USB 3.0 support to this board, making it a dream enthusiast?s board. The board was easily able to overclock the Core i7 920 CPU we use for testing to the over 3.99GHz range, just shy of 4GHz. Performance in the normal testing regime was excellent. This board gets an obvious Editor?s Choice for these reasons.

The market for Radeon HD 5870 video cards has matured since the launch of this top-tier GPU in September of 2009. Development has continued on both the hardware side and the software side of the ATI family, and the ASUS EAH5870/2DIS/1GD5/V2 is one of several new 58xx series cards released by ATI AIB partners in the last few months that follow a new design pattern. The complexity of the 5870 reference design has given way to a more focused approach. A robust power supply, an efficient cooling package, and a simpler system for voltage control; all add up to a bigger bang for the buck, higher reliability and more headroom for overclocking. Several vendors have been trying to find the right recipe for maximizing the value proposition of the Radeon HD5870, and this time Benchmark Reviews is going to look very closely at the second generation Voltage Tweak EAH5870 model from ASUS.

"While the HDT SD964W cooler from Xigmatek isn't the best performing tower cooler I've seen, it does have a niche that many enthusiasts may want to explore. It didn't perform well on the overclocked Q6600 in the test mule, but it should be more than adequate for dual and tri-core processors in the 65W range with moderate voltage increases."

Thecus has spent a long time devising their NAS servers and these shows with the design of the N7700. It supports all of the major file systems including the Mac, Windows and Linux. The unit can take up to seven drives in RAID 0, 1, 5,6,10 or JBOD mode. The N7700 is available for a mere $1149, and is the top of the line of their consumer lineup. It is a fully functioning computer with a Core 2 Duo 4GB of memory and gives you plenty of room to install HDDs in various RAID configurations. The Dual DOMs allow the system to boot up after a power failure causes the first DOM to fail, an excellent feature. For those who want only quality and are not afraid of the price tag the Thecus N7700 is a solid Editors Choice Product.

"The newest offering from Scythe is the Yasya and it has a couple new features as part of its design. Most noticeable is the very unique looking fin profile the Scythe, the T.M.L.F or Trident Multi Layer Fin structure. The Yasya also has 6 heat pipes in an unparallel arrangement. The triangle fin structure and the offset heatpipes allow for maximum air flow and heat dissipation. The Yasya comes with the new Slip Stream 120mm PWM adjustable fan. With the fan being adjustable it can run as low as 470 RPM at 7 dBa to as high as 1,900 RPM at 37 dBa depending on the combination of fan control settings and what the CPU is calling for. So the Yasya has a setting that should suit just about any user's taste..."

?Small to medium sized businesses are the most likely customers for the Acronis product which matches what the competition has to offer while being easier to manage than most. Smaller companies will also like the fact that it?s a very complete product, able to take advantage of existing hardware and cope with most software setups with few optional extras required. For larger enterprises the advantages over other products are less clear cut. The Acronis product does support tape but the emphasis is very much on the use of disk technologies which would make switching from another backup application difficult. That said, it is a very scalable solution with a lot to offer large enterprise customers, particularly those using virtualisation to consolidate data centre resources.?
