Despite the fact that this is not a new product, it's still definitely worth reviewing. After the introduction of cards based off the NVIDIA 8800GTS GPU configured with 320MB of video memory, it has created a unique price segment of its own. It is a DirectX 10 compliant card that claims to offer strong performance in majority of today's games, while retaining a price of roughly $300 -- within the budget of semi-hardcore gamers that cannot spend $700 on the latest, most powerful graphics solution. Today, we'll take a look at Asus' version of the 8800GTS. What makes this card different from the rest? It comes at an affordable price, but also a bundle of a couple of games, and even a copy of Futuremark's 3DMark06 Professional full version. Let's take a look at what Asus has to offer us today, complete with our standard set of benchmarks.

AMD's DX10 powerhouse, the Radeon HD 2900 XT, has given NVIDIA something to think about, but we reckon the GeForce 8800 GTS 320 remains the best buy under £200. ASUS has a particularly attractive bundle with its effort.

In this review PCSTATS tests the awesome Asus EN8800GTS/HTDP/320M PCI Express videocard. This Geforce 8800GTS-320 lives up to the hype, and comes with one of the best software packages available for its class. In the box is a full copy of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, which just happens to be one of the hottest shooter titles of 2006. The game looks particularly splendid when played over the Asus EN8800GTS/HTDP/320M videocard too. Take my advice, turn up the resolution to 1600x1200 and kick in AA and AF to get the full affect.

The GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB has captured and quickly dominated the $300+ videocard market as there is nothing else within this price range that can compete or even come close to it. This new GeForce 8-series alternative was released a little over a month ago now and availability has been excellent from the beginning, with countless options available. Today we have managed to get our hands on the ASUS EN8800GTS, which is priced at around $310 and comes with a few added bonuses.

Back in December when we first looked at the GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB, we felt that BFGTech's implementation hit the right price point and was fantastic at delivering great gaming experiences all the way up to 1920x1200. Resolutions up to 2560x1600 are left to one or two GeForce 8800 GTXs, or you might just get away with a pair of 8800 GTSs in some games. The GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB is exactly what it says on the tin - it's the same card as its bigger brother, with half of the memory footprint. NVIDIA says that it is designed to deliver great gaming experiences at what the company refers to as mainstream resolutions with great image quality and an even more affordable price tag.
