I've used more than a few Thermaltake CPU coolers over the years; no surprise considering they've been in business since 1999. Today I'll be taking a look at another of their latest products, the Max Orb. Following the progression of orb coolers, from the Golden Orb II through the Blue Orb and Ruby Orb, the Max Orb represents yet another level of advancement in design for Thermaltake.

What makes the Thermaltake Max Orb stand out from others is the fact that it has 6 heat pipes. The heat pipes have been put together two by two, looking like 3 circles and thereby following the shape of the other coolers in the Orb series.

Thermaltake's Orb series has been very popular. We have checked out both the Ruby Orb, and Golden Orb. Each of them performed well and received good scores. The MaxOrb has a little different design, but still has the "Orb" motif. The MaxOrb features a 6 heatpipe design, 120mm fan, and a copper base. Although the base is made of copper the rest of the heatsink is aluminum. Hopefully its design will come in to play to help cooling because as we all know copper cools much better than aluminum.

Summer is the perfect time for many things: vacation, picnics, camping, and spending time at the beach. Unfortunatly, all this warm weather means that computers will not be running as cool as they normally would, and system stability can become threatened. Benchmark Reviews has recently tested the MaxOrb CL-P0369 from Thermaltake. Read on to discover if this product is a computer enthusiast and overclockers dream, or just another fancy fan with some heat pipes.
