ASUS ZenFone 2 Comes to North America
Today, ASUS announced that the ZenFone 2, the first smartphone powered by an Intel Atom processor (Moorefield) paired with the Intel XMM 7260 LTE Advanced modem, will be available on May 19, 2015 in North America. Announced by ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih along with the latest ZenBook models, the ZenFone 2 is the flagship ASUS smartphone featuring a 13MP camera with f/2.0 wide-aperture lens along with ASUS-exclusive PixelMaster camera technology. It also brings the new ZenUI user interface, and Dual-SIM, Dual-Active (DSDA) capability.
ZenFone 2 is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 (Moorefield) processor with up to 4GB RAM. An Intel LTE-Advanced modem provides fast 4G/LTE connectivity.
The smartphone's 5.5-inch Full HD IPS+ screen has a 72% screen-to-body ratio and its 3000mAh battery provides enough power to get through the day, and it also features BoostMaster fast-charge technology for reduced recharge times.
The phone will start at $199 USD, and will be available at Amazon.com, Groupon.com and NewEgg.com in the U.S., and NCIX.com, Canada Computer and Memory Express in Canada.
ASUS ZenBook UX305
Asus is also bringing the ZenBook UX305 to the North American market. It features an elegantly-tapered design with smooth edges and diamond-cut highlights that emphasize its 12.3mm-thin case - and it weighs 1.2kg.
ZenBook UX305 is powered by an Intel Core M processor, a power-efficient processor designed for ultra-slim devices. The processor is combined with up to 8GB of RAM and an up to 512GB SSD.
ZenBook UX305 is fitted with a 13.3-inch in-plane switching (IPS) multi-touch display with an up to QHD+ resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels and wide viewing angles. This display features a pixel density of 276PPI, 300cd/m2 brightness, a contrast ratio of 770:1, an ergonomic anti-glare coating and the wide color gamut (72% NTSC).
ZenBook UX305 is also equipped with three SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports. One of the USB ports supports ASUS Charger+ technology for rapid recharging of mobile devices. A USB-to-Ethernet adapter is bundled with UX305, along with a mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter - enabling easy connection to an external monitor.
ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501
At the heart of ZenBook Pro UX501 is the quad-core Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor. The device has a massive 16GB of RAM, features the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M graphics-processing unit (GPU) and up to 4GB of GDDR5 video memory for smooth 4K/UHD video playback.
ZenBook Pro UX501 has a 15.6-inch multi-touch display with a 4K/UHD 3860 x 2160 resolution and an pixel density of 282PPI. IPS technology ensures the display's wide 178-degree viewing angles.
ZenBook Pro UX501 is available with an SSD with PCI Express (PCIe) x4 interface and up to 512GB capacity, with read/write speeds of up to 1400MB/s.
A thermal-management system combined with ZenBook Pro UX501?s 96Wh lithium-polymer battery means that users won't need to find a mains-power outlet for up to six hours.
