Lenovo Launches New Windows 10 Tablet, YOGA Laptops, And TAB3 Mobile Devices
Today at Mobile World Congress, Lenovo introduced two new consumer Windows 10 PCs: YOGA 710 and 5101 convertible laptops and the ideapad MIIX 310 2-in-1 detachable tablet. The comp[any also announced the TAB3 10 Business Android tablet, and the TAB3 7 and the TAB3 8. The YOGA 710 is a convertible laptop, built to optimize Windows 10 and powered by an Intel Core i7 processor on the 14-inch model (and up to a Core m5 on the smaller 11-inch model). With integrated multitasking from Windows 10, the device can switch among all sorts of tasks, from videoconferencing on Skype, to answering emails in Outlook, to editing photos and videos. The YOGA 710 is compact – at only 2.35 pounds.
If you’re looking for even more power, the 14-inch model comes with a 256 GB solid-state drive (SSD) and optional NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics. Whichever model you choose, you can count on more than eight hours of battery life, even with the 1080p display and Dolby Audio certified surround sound.
Both models offer up to 8 hours of battery. They have FHD (1920x1080) displays and Dolby Audio Premium.
The YOGA 710 11-inch laptop starts at €799, available starting in May 2016. The YOGA 710 14-inch laptop starts at €899, also available starting in May.
The new YOGA 510 delivers up to 8.5 hours battery life. Similar to the YOGA 710, the new YOGA 5101 delivers a smooth transition between laptop, stand, tent, and tablet modes. Lighter than before at only 1.75kg (14-inch) and 2.08kg (15-inch), its new design has a diamond cut palm rest. It is powered by up to 6th Gen Intel Core i7 processors with optional AMD Radeon R7 M460 2GB GFX.
The YOGA 510 14-inch laptop starts at €479, available starting in April 2016. The YOGA 5101 15-inch laptop starts at €699.
The MIIX 310 weighs in at just 580 grams. This 2-in-1 comes with a detachable keyboard and up to 10 hours of battery life, making the 10-inch tablet screen a virtual laptop when necessary. There is optional 4G LTE connectivity, it boasts up to 10 hours of battery life, an optional FHD display, up to 64GB eMMC storage and 4GB DDR3L of memory.
The ideapad MIIX 310 10-inch tablet starts at €269, available starting in June 2016.
The new Lenovo TAB3 10 Business is an Android tablet engineered for business use, and the TAB3 7 and TAB3 8, Lenovo’s first series of family-friendly tablets.
The TAB3 10 Business is pairing the power of Android 6.0 with the optimization and services that matters most to business professionals. It supports Android For Work and boasts an array of security and encryption.
The tablet supports industry solutions for classroom management, point-of-sale management and e-Health management. And the TAB3 10 can withstand the wear and tear of tough working environments using P2i technology to achieve IP52 performance for dust- and splash-proofing and shielding through scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3 panels.
The TAB3 10 Business is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core processor and has up to 12 hours of battery life, USB on-the-go, Y- and T- connectors, RJ45 cables or card readers. Connectivity options include including NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi AC full GPS and optional 4G.
Its 10" full-HD IPS display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Other features include dual speakers boosted by Dolby Atmos, an 8MP auto-focus rear camera and a 5MP fixed-focus front camera.
The TAB3 10 Business is available starting in July 2016. Lenovo did not provide pricing details.
The TAB3 7 and 8 series of tablets hav ebeen designed for families. For younger children, the tablet also comes pre-loaded with dedicated kid’s mode with safe Web-browsing options and the ability to restrict access to the tablet at chosen times or days of the week.
The TAB3 7 and TAB3 8 come with Adaptive Display technology that can filter out blue light. The screen can adjust the tablet's visuals and sounds based on what the user is looking at on the screen. It also adjusts for brightness and color, detecting the ambient lighting of the surrounding environment with the help of sensors.
The TAB3 7 and TAB3 8 are running on 1.0GHz Quad-Core processors, featuring 2MP front and 5MP rear cameras and Dolby Atmos audio. They’re also available with 4G LTE optional-support.
The compact TAB3 7 comes with a 7" SD IPS display and a water repellent coating.
With an 8" HD IPS display and front-facing dual speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos audio, the TAB3 8 is a multimedia companion for long road trips or at home. The versatile device comes with multi-user support so users can share their tablet with their teenagers or younger kids Like the TAB 3 7, it also provides safe Web-browsing and restricted access as well as safe viewing modes for children in Kid’s Mode.
TAB3 7 is starting at €119 from June 2016; and TAB3 8 starting at €149 from June 2016.
Lenovo Connect Service & App
Lenovo also announced a new global wireless roaming service called Lenovo Connect, which will be available in China and EMEA.
Lenovo Connect eliminates having to buy a separate SIM card and offers benefits such as low-priced global roaming by leveraging Lenovo’s Big Data and cloud services. It provides a simple and cost-effective connectivity solution for companies of all sizes and mobile professionals to stay always connected.
In China, Lenovo is bringing service via the Lenovo Connect app on select Lenovo smartphones and laptops. With one click, users can access Lenovo Connect to enjoy local pricing on Internet access when they travel to more than 50 countries around the world. In China, Lenovo’s first products to feature Lenovo Connect will be the LeMeng X3 smartphone and MIIX 700 tablet.
In EMEA, Lenovo is working with channel partners to bring Lenovo Connect to customers in a variety of Lenovo ThinkPad devices. Initially available in 45 EMEA markets, Lenovo Connect users will be able to enjoy secure data connectivity at "competitive rates." Lenovo Connect will be supported by customized data plans designed to support both domestic and international roaming use in more than 110 countries globally.
Lenovo Connect will be available in China starting this month for select smartphones and later this year for select tablets and laptops. It will be available in EMEA starting in Q1 2016 for select ThinkPad laptops.
