Optical Storage Mar 3,2009 0

Singulus Technonogies has developed a new production system including process technology for the manufacture of recordable Blu-ray Discs (BD-R). Singulus already became world market leader for production systems in 2008, when it launched the BLULINE II. Since the beginning of 2008, the new BD-R production system is in use at Info Source Multimedia Ltd (ISMM) and they are the first supplier of recordable Blu-ray Discs in China.

The new system is aimed at the segment of the forthcoming recordable Blu-ray Discs (BD-R).

According to a study by the research organization FutureSource, production of recordable Blu-ray Discs is expected to reach approx. 1 billion by 2012.

Stefan A. Baustert, CEO of Singulus, remarked: "We are absolutely convinced that the new production system for recordable Blu-ray Discs will likewise be able to capture a successful market position. Singulus is well positioned to benefit from future business."
