ASUS sends us one hell of a motherboard- the Blitz Formula could possibly be the best P35/DDR2 motherboard that we'll ever test with its incredible features, overclocking and performance.

Following the exciting and costly Fatal1ty edition of the GeForce 8600 GT, we now turn to another passively cooled GeForce 8600 GT, the ASUS EN8600GT Silent. While it is not overclocked out of the box, does it still measure up to the competition then? We'll find out in this review.

ASUS has really embraced the Intel P35 quickly, as they currently offer eight unique motherboards based on the chipset. The ASUS P5K Deluxe comes in two flavors, while the standard version we have here today supports DDR2 memory, there is also a version that exclusively supports DDR3 memory, known as the P5K3 Deluxe. Both motherboards share the exact same PCB design with slight alterations to the cooling design and of course different memory DIMMs. Today we are testing the P5K Deluxe WiFi-AP Edition, which currently has a retail value of $250, making this a high-end product.

There are, of course, features that the PG221 has and the 215TW doesn't, but it's going to be a question of whether those features are needed by the potential buyer. In a pure battle between the 215TW and the PG221 on the image quality front, the Samsung was notably better than the Asus. But, after a bit of tweaking, the image quality delivered by the PG221 was still pretty good. I guess it's a question of whether you need the extra features that the Asus provides, or whether you're after a great all-round monitor at a fantastic price. I can't help but feel that, because of the 215TW's aggressive pricing, the PG221 (even with its fantastic set of features) just doesn't do enough to justify spending any more than £240 on a 20", 21" or 22" widescreen monitor.

The Bearlake P35 chipset, as you may know, also supports DDR3 memory from the get go, so ASUS was only too keen to launch another P5K model, replete with DDR3 support. Is it worth the £15 price premium over its DDR2-equipped stable-mate? Let's find out!

A year ago we had reviewed the M2N32-SLI Deluxe WiFi motherboard from ASUS, which was a phenomenal Socket AM2 motherboard that used NVIDIA's nForce 590 SLI Chipset and featured a number of ASUS innovations. Recently ASUS had sent out to us an updated M2N32-SLI Deluxe WiFi, which adds official support for Microsoft Windows Vista. At hand today we have re-tested the ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe and now have additional compatibility comments for Linux as well as Solaris.

When we had a look at the Radeon HD 2900 XT the other week from MSI we were impressed with it as the new drivers gave it a big boost and it was capable of outperforming the GeForce 8800 GTX at times - could the HD 2900 XT continue to perform and even pass the Ultra? With both AMD's and Nvidia's top cards in hand thanks to ASUS, we will have a look at what exactly ASUS has done with the cards and then continue to pit them against each other.

Nowadays, a release of a new chipset is almost as exciting as a new GPU or CPU. With NVIDIA's flagship 680i and supposedly-midrange 650i launched at the end of 2006, Intel is back again with their long awaited code-named "Bearlake" chipset. Officially carrying a name of Intel P35, it certainly does not take long for major motherboard manufacturers to roll out their latest motherboards. Of such is Asus, and their usual line to accommodate every market -- value, mainstream, mid-high, and, well, prototypes of the flagship Blitz Formula and Blitz Extreme sure looks good -- alas, they're not yet released. Others worth mentioning include workstation class desktop motherboards -- whatever category that goes into (Mid-high, high-end, professional kind of thing)! On the other hand, today we'll take a look at the Asus P35 based motherboard that serves the mid-high end market -- these boards traditionally have been very popular amongst feature oriented consumers and performance enthusiasts at a relatively affordable price. Will the new Asus P5K-Deluxe impress and keep its momentum going? Let's put it through the trials.

Asus has engineered their way into the hearts of Overclockers and the homes of PC-Users the world over. Asus pioneered the OEM market, introducing "Enthusiast" style motherboards long before the phrase "PC-Enthusiast" was coined. Asus motherboards are synonymous with overclocking and the P5W DH Deluxe/WiFi is no exception.

The new Asus Arctic Square heatsink Frostytech is testing out for you today consists of an array of nickel plated aluminum fins wrapped around a 92 mm fan that is set within the body of the heatsink. It's a simple arrangement of fan and cooling fins, but one that draws cool air into the heatsink and expels warmed air out the other side. Noise never becomes much of an issue with this heatsink because the fan impeller does not rotate more than 2300RPM.

P5B Premium Vista Edition from ASUS is a high-end socket 775 motherboard based on the Intel P965 chipset, coming with several extra features compared to other Intel P965 motherboards, such as two x16 PCI Express slots, two Gigabit Ethernet ports and, what is really unique on this model, a LCD display, called ScreenDuo, a remote control, called AI Remote, and a good-quality array microphone. Let's take a look on the features and performance of this model from ASUS.

The 8800GTX, after many months on the market, is still the best of the best. Sure, there's one card for competition: the 8800 Ultra; but that's sort of a joke; it's basically a stock-overclocked GTX, with a $150 premium. (The joke is really on the buyer.) ATI has given NVIDIA no reason to worry, since their HD 2000-series doesn't have a card like it. Without any competition to speak of, that leaves one question: which 8800GTX is best? That depends on the price, extra features and bundle.

With the launch of Intel's P35 chipset, ASUS promptly released seven boards for you to choose from. A few weeks ago we had taken a look at the P5K3 and were left very impressed. Given the fact that the P5K is strikingly similar in specs, we hope to be left as equally impressed.
