Previously we have already reviewed a number of GeForce 9600 GT graphics cards, and the one we are taking a look at today, is a BFG GeForce 9600 GT OC card with 512MB GDDR3 RAM, that has been overclocked by the manufacturer. The GeForce 9600 GT is a PCI Express 2.0 graphics card, supporting DirectX 10, but it is of course possible to use in PCI Express 1.0 slots, which most people have today.

To be fair, I'm still in two minds about the GeForce 9800 GTX. And even though BFG Tech has gone above and beyond the call of duty here, I still don?t think it's enough for me to change my mind about this particular card in Nvidia?s line-up. You see, the standard cards are still on the expensive side compared to the GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS 512, while BFG Tech's GeForce 9800 GTX OCX is priced at such a point that it's no longer competing against only products in Nvidia's line-up, but also against the Radeon HD 3870 X2. And over time, it seems like the 3870 X2's drivers have improved a bit and it's now becoming a more rounded purchase when you compare it to something like the card we?ve looked at here today.

The ES-800 from BFG is an 800W power supply that comes with everything an enthusiast might want. It has support for up to four PCI-Express power consumers and features an unorthodox internal layout. In our testing we saw an amazing efficiency of 84.9%.

BFG has brought a new 800 watt PSU on the market with a lifetime (and we do mean lifetime) warranty, a number of performance claims, and an opening MSRP of a commanding $230 USD. This sounds serious. Time to crank our FAST-AUTO load system to 11.

Today NVIDIA launched the new 9800 GTX graphics card and we are having a look at the BFG 9800 GTX. This card sells for a bit under $300 and has great performance. The BFG 9800 GTX has impressive performance at a price of around $299. BFG doesn't bundle a game with its 9800 GTX like some of the other NVIDIA card partners do. However, that doesn't take away from the performance of the BFG 9800 GTX at all. The BFG 9800 GTX is simply a fantastic performance.

After some careful analysis of the changes, it doesn't appear to make much sense spending any more than about £120 on a GeForce 9600 GT now, because at that point the stretch to £140 isn't too far away. BFGTech's GeForce 9600 GT OC is currently sitting at around £115 including delivery (if you take advantage of Scan's free delivery offer for regular contributors to the bit-tech community) - at that price, it's not a bad deal but I do have some concerns.

It performed the best overall through the testing process and comes in at the same price range of the HD3870.

BFG, the traditional video card manufacturer, has recently entered into the Power Supply business. Their 800 W model has two 80-mm fans to cool down the unit and the PC and two PCI Express auxiliary connectors, to feed two video cards under SLI or CrossFire configuration. Let's take an in-depth look inside this power supply and see if it can really deliver its labeled 800 W.

So, BFGTech's GeForce 8800 GTS OC 512MB appears to have hit a price point that can't be matched by anything other than stock-clocked GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB cards and as such it earns a recommendation from us. However, it's important to make sure that it's going to be connected to a 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 display, as that will show the card in its best possible light. You can get away with running the BFGTech GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB on higher or lower resolution screens, but the benefits of the card aren't going to be quite so profound.

We continue to be impressed by Nvidia's GeForce 8800 GT and in the grand scheme of things, and BFGTech's overclocked card continues that trend. Admittedly, the BFGTech 8800 GT OC is only a few frames per second faster than the reference card in most scenarios, but the benefit of the BFGTech card is that it comes with a decent warranty and, from experience, good customer services too.

We hope you all had a good weekend. We're writing today to let you all know that we've just posted a new article at HotHardware in which we evaluate the features, performance, and overclockability of BFG's GeForce 8600 GTS OC2 with Thermo Intelligence cooling. The BFG GeForce 8600GT OC2 is a factory overclocked version of the GeForce 8600GTS, priced at approximately $229 - $249, and running at a 720MHz core and 1110MHz memory clocks. Head on over to the site and check it out...

BFG is one of two companies offering the Ageia PhysX card in form of a retail product. The PPU - physics proccesing unit - is an additioal processor to the GPU and CPU. It enables real life physics and interactivity within supporting games. While the first games and a high price tag upon launch did not live up to expectations, the brand new Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and a very affordable 120 USD price tag makes this a great addition nowadays.

BFG Tech who is best known for their overclocked NVIDIA cards which continue to carry a lifetime warranty have recently decided to mix it up in the cooling department. While they have offered full blown water block solutions for a while now, people who want something a a bit tamer than these without resorting to the stock cooler haven't had much luck. That is until now, the release of the ThermoIntelligence series form BFG Tech now means that you get something that is supposedly more effective than a stock cooler but still offers a compact single slot setup.

BFGTech's GeForce 8600 GTS OC ThermoIntelligence is a great example of a GeForce 8600 GTS and it delivers good performance for a gamer running a 17" or 19" LCD monitor in current titles. In isolation, it's a good card with a cooler that does exactly what it the manufacturer claims it will do, and then some based on our results.

The new BFG 8600 GTS OC2 arrived Technic3D. The BFG Overclocking Graphic Card with DirectX 10 and a "new Heatsink" better than other Graphic Cards on Windows Vista? Technic3D will see that in the following Review.
