Just like with X975 and P965, Intel is appearing on the market with two basic versions of the chipset, "performance desktop X38" as opposed to X975, and "mainstream desktop P35" as opposed to P965. The first and basic novelty is concerning the manufacturing process, as the chipsets are being manufactured in 65nm which facilitate lesser consumption of energy and better overclockability. Is P35 chipset a worthy successor to previous generation?

The Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6was a fun motherboard to review. It was quick to set up, as I have found most Intel chipset boards to be, and it was just plain easy to use. Gigabyte did a wonderful job with this board. The Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 is a wonderful update the the first release boards that Gigabyte had. The features and layout on this board are outstanding, leaving really no room for desiring anything else...

After meeting up with the nice guys at Gigabyte, we were kindly shipped one of their laptop coolers. Designed to be completely silent, and easy to use, the G-Pad shows promise. Coupled with a storage bag, it should be your laptops new best friend.

Gigabyte has attempted to pull out all the stops with their new 3D Aurora 570. With a multitude of vendors scrambling to capture your hard-earned dollar for their enclosures, can Gigabyte be the one you want? And with long established names like Antec, CoolerMaster, ThermalTake, ABS, SilverStone, and others fighting it out in the enthusiast market, can the Aurora pull out in front? That's what we're going to find out...

Gigabyte's 3DAurora 570 chassis is the second-generation offering in this product line and a very worthy successor to the original. With many improvements over its older brother and several new features, the 570 is a high quality case that will make an excellent home for the latest maximum-effort systems an enthusiast might wish to install. It has a distinctive look, great performance and a feature list the likes of which give many chassis manufacturers a thing or two to learn.

You find yourself wanting to get into DirectX 10 gaming but with only a 17" or 19" LCD you cannot justify spending excessive dollars on an overpowered card. If you are not a huge detail junky, and technology like AA and AF does not bother you, then even the Nvidia GeForce 8600GTS is probably overkill for you. With users like this in mind, Nvidia has come out with the 8600GT, a mid-range card at about 2/3 the price of a standard 8600GTS. A 1/3 price drop equates to AU$100 (US$80), a significant saving for anyone. Two versions are with us today, a silent passive-cooled offering from Gigabyte and an overclocked XXX version from XFX, a company who pleasantly pleased us with its 8600GTS in an earlier review.

Gigabyte in true form has taken up this new chipset as part of their Dual Quad series. And while the Taiwanese motherboard group has been much slower to release their 680i product, they've finally done it and we quite interested to find out if the wait has been worth it or not. Labelled the N680SLI-DQ6, we can only expect the best, as only the best and brightest get the DQ6 naming treatment from Gigabyte. Let's see if the impressive DQ6 line of motherboards continues as we shoot for the highest ever FSB overclock ever recorded in our labs.

Gigabyte's N680SLI-DQ6 is 680i on steroid; the motherboard offers quad Gigabit LAN, 10x SATA II ports, quad 3-phase power circuit, silent heatpipe cooling, Dolby Digital Live, DTS Connect encoding, and lots of small improvements over the reference Nvidia 680i design.

OK, so water isn't this year's air, that doesn't mean it's without its merits, and if the days of mix and match components, jubilee clips, badly fitting adaptors and dripping joints has left you cold then perhaps it's time you took another look at some of the impressive bespoke kits that are vying to tempt more and more users to walk the way of the wet stuff.

The Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 is a balanced motherboard that is capable of completing any task that you ask of it. Even though the motherboard has loads of integrated features like IEEE 1394a, plenty of Serial ATA II ports, Gigabit networking and 7.1 channel High Definition audio, you still have plenty of expansion opportunities. Three PCI Express x1 and two PCI slots certainly give the GA-965P-DQ6 a lot of options.

On the top we can see the blue 92mm Gigabyte LED fan, rated at 12V 0.38A and running at 2500 RPM with 35 dBa noise level. This produces a medium noise level at the highest speed function. At the top, you can also see a duct cover which informs you of the position to install the heatsink. The top cover is removable to decrease the height of the unit to facilitate smaller chassis.

The 7600GS from GIGABYTE is an interesting video card. Unfortunately, the card came bare with no bundle or accessories, and I had no HDMI capable monitor to test it with. With the proliferation of video cards on the market today supporting only the DVI-I and D-Sub adapter, HDMI at the moment is a niche market. As we move further into an era where HD-DVD and Blu-Ray content replace DVDs I believe video cards like the GV-NX76G256HI-RH will become more the norm. The era of HD content is here and the HDCP requirements will push HDMI to the forefront.

One of our first motherboard to come into our labs based on the P965 Express chipset was the Gigabyte P965-DQ6. This board had it all - great overclocking, plenty of features onboard as well as a great look and feel. Gigabyte did have a few issues with this board in terms of stability, a few samples refused to work properly, this produced a 2.0 revision. While this may have been enough, Gigabyte sporting its new Gigabyte United name still wasn't fully happy and has now brought out a new revision 3.3 model which on paper looks to be fantastic. The newly formed company is quite serious about making their motherboards the highest quality in the industry with improvements such as All-Solid Capacitor designs using the most expensive components from Japan. Today we will explore the revision 3.3 DQ6 motherboard as there have been quite a few changes made to the overall design. We'll check out those new changes and then compare it to the first DQ6 released and against one of the best P965 motherboards we have tested so far, the ASUS Commando.

The new Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 motherboard will hit retail shelves soon and we've managed to snag one for some first hand experience. Based on the nForce 680i SLI chipset, this monster comes with the kitchen sink bolted on. You may not need such a board ever, but it sure gives you some boasting rights.
