The first thing that strikes you about the P35 Platinum is the funky heatpipe design that cools the Northbridge and Southdridge as well as the MOSFETs. We can say that it works really well as the heatpipes were barely warm even when overclocked, however, the bad thing is that you'll be hardpressed to install CPU HSF units other than the tock one provided by Intel. We could not get one of our PCZ HSF units to install on this board. Also, the heatsink on the Southbridge is quite tall and our 8800GTX card didnt like that too much- we had to move it a bit to make sure it was fitted in properly.

With its NX8600GT-T2D256E-OC, MSI gives consumers an even more attractive package by selling a pre-overclocked GeForce 8600GT videocard straight from the factory. Stock speeds for this GPU are 540 MHz core, 1400 MHz memory. The MSI NX8600GT-T2D256E-OC runs with its GPU at 580 MHz and memory at 1600 MHz! That should give us a little bit of extra "umph" at higher resolutions. Don't forget to check out the maximum videocard overclocking chart at the end, it's got to be the coolest page on the web!

The MSI P35 Neo Combo isn't your typical mainstream Intel P35 motherboard with barebone functionality. It is a full featured budget board with quad-core processor support, good overclocking capability and a hybrid DDR2/DDR3 memory design. Read all about it right here.

The MSI P35 Platinum motherboard overclocks pretty well (to 408 MHz), even though it does not have CPU clock multiplier adjustments in the BIOS. The new Intel P35 Express platform looks to be an excellent overclocker. We're excited to see what kind of results will be possible with a 1333MHZ FSB processor... Don't forget to check out the maximum motherboard overclocking chart at the end! :D

Even if you're only a casual gamer, a DirectX 10 videocard gives you access to a lot of the eye candy in the latest game titles, and that's not always so with a DirectX 9.0C videocard. To top things off, if you know where to look you can find a good DirectX 10 class videocard that wont break the bank. MSI's NX8500GT-TD256E is a PCI Express x16 videocard based on the nVIDIA GeForce 8500GT GPU and backed by 256MB of GDDR2 memory. It features a 15 pin analog monitor output, DVI output and TV/Component output for HDTVs.

The feature set is solid, it looks great and offers enough to keep the majority of people interested. The box could offer a few more extras like additional USB ports and the board's eSATA solution is inferior to Gigabyte's optional bracket. However, if you're a fan of quiet computing and want something rock solid stable with an enthusiast friendly BIOS, superb overclocking and a not too stressing price, then the MSI P35 Platinum should definitely be one to consider.

The initial drivers were nothing to get excited about and made the performance overall look pretty ordinary. The biggest problem though is that it seems most people have already made up their minds - I will not lie to you, I had. I honestly saw the initial test results and thought the card was a joke considering how long we had been waiting for it. The good news is that ATI are really on the ball when it comes to drivers. It has been like this for a few years now and it only took a new set of drivers to really make the HD 2900 XT something worth having as far as we are concerned.

Today we are going to examine a couple of overclocked GeForce 8800 GTX cards as well as an 8800 GTS 320MB solution. The card from XFX is one of the fastest in its class and is one of the best choices, though it yields to EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX ACS3. The second card is a very interesting GeForce 8800 GTX from MSI equipped with a powerful liquid cooling system. Its efficiency allowed to raise card frequencies up to 610/2000 MHz. That's why it's the fastest product of all three reviewed today. The third accelerator is a simple 8800 GTS 320MB reference card from ASUS.
