OCZ Technologies is no stranger to us here at HL. Over the past few years, we've covered OCZ's excellent system memory, flash media, and power supplies. As we saw at CES, OCZ is definitely not a company to rests on its laurels, releasing a plethora of new products. Today we'll take an up close and personal look at OCZ's newest cooling product, the OCZ Vendetta CPU Cooler. It is obvious with a quick glance that the Vendetta isn't your "run of the mill" cooler. While upon initial inspection it fits the mold of the average cooler, aluminum fins attached to copper heat pipes, flipping the OCZ Vendetta over reveals something unusual.

The kit I received was the 4GB kit, or 2x2GB PC2-6400, that runs at 800MHz and has a timing rating of 4-4-3-15. The modules will run those timings at 1.8v - 2.1v and handle up to 2.2v without voiding the EVP (Extended Voltage Protection) warranty. The 4-4-3-15 timings are really good for DDR2. With such tight timings I wouldn't expect high overclocking rates at the stock timing; but loosened up, the result might be impressive.

OCZ offers optimized memory modules for different application ranges for years. It does not only concern the memory module overclocking with sophisticated RAM heatsinks, but also an optimal adjustment of the RAM to the respective system. For example the reviewed OCZ PC2-8500 nVidia SLI-Ready Edition 2GB kit is optimized for current nVidia motherboards. This SLI ready PC2-8500 memory was tested on a motherboard with ULi M1697 chipset and also on a motherboard with nVidia nForce 590 SLI chipset (SLI-Ready support). Of course the memory was overclocked up to the limit.

And since there are still uses for it, the memory guys are still designing and building new DDR2 memory modules, treating us to lower latencies and higher frequencies than previously available?at ridiculously low prices.

Just when we thought that all the DDR2 reviews had dried up, OCZ comes and surprises us with their latest "ReaperX" 4GB kit.

With the 6-5-5-18 timings, the OCZ Technology 2GB PC3-10666 ReaperX HPC DDR3 Dual Channel Memory Kit is very impressive right out of the package at 1333MHz. Testing showed that it can outperform other comparable memory with looser timings, providing a quick plug-and-play upgrade for those who aren't all that into overclocking and tweaking their BIOS.

OCZ's broad market availability means you won't have a hard time tracking down the Vendetta heatsink in your neck of the woods. The Xigamtek HDT-S983 was a great heatsink, and the OCZ Vendetta cooler will certainly follow in its footsteps. The OCZ Vendetta heatsink FrostyTech is reviewing today is equipped with soft rubber vibration absorbing fan posts, and a 92mm PWM fan that spins at 1200-2800RPM, and some rather unique fin geometry.

Since some users don't need the lower latencies, higher latencies can afford them a bit more avid performance at lower price. A good case and point is the new OCZ DDR3-1333 Gold Edition 2GB Dual Channel Memory Kit. OCZ has obviously been paying attention to the market comments and has done something to help their fans that are looking to make the move to DDR3. It isn't that there aren't many DDR3 kits to choose from, it's more that there aren't a great deal of DDR3 boards circulating yet. And there hasn't been a large enough performance boost from DDR3 boards that can draw people out to spend that pretty penny required to upgrade their motherboard and memory kit to tap in to their Core 2 Duo's hidden potential.

OCZ has put together a very interesting 4GB DDR2 memory kit, namely because these modules feature heatpipes and a large aluminum fin heatsink. The ReaperX HPC heatsink system draws heat way from the DDR2 BGA DRAM Modules, allowing system airflow to do all the work silently. The OCZ PC2-6400 ReaperX HPC Enhanced Bandwidth dual channel memory kit is 4GB in capacity, and it retails for a competitive price. This 4GB kit of PC2-6400 memory kit operates at DDR2-800 speeds with timings of 4-4-3-15.

OCZ would like to take us back to the good ole days with their new cooler, the Vendetta. If you had to put the Vendetta in a class it would definitely be a tower type. The Vendetta stands tall being supported by three heatpipes surrounded by plenty of aluminum fins. The Vendetta is not the top of the line cooler from OCZ but more in the middle. So I would venture to say it is gear to take on the middle range of coolers from other manufacturers. How tall will it stand in our test?

Today OCZ have given us the chance of taking a look at one of there latest Flash drives on the market and that is the ATV Turbo. Available in a number of sizes, ranging from 2GB to 8GB, right though to an amazing 16GB version an probably a 32gb version on the way. Thus giving the consumer more space then ever to store files. And that's all, the ATV Turbo flash drives main feature is there durable and rubber case housing which OCZ claim to be 100% waterproof and shock proof, so this should be interesting to see how it performs. Today I got my hands on the ATV Turbo 4GB version.

Now comes a new material hot on the heels of a new breed of thermal interface material that is trying to knock off the industry leader from its high perch. Other compounds we have recently tested have done quite well, so now the big question is if OCZ can add its name to the list of products that can trounce the popular Arctic Silver line.

OCZ has prided themselves on overclocking memory to its extreme limits and have done a great job at not only reaching the limits, but pushing them with innovative cooling ideas. We have been given a new PC2-6400 ReaperX kit with OCZ's innovative Reaper Extreme Cooling. These modules are set to hit extreme levels of overclocking.

The OCZ ATV Turbo has been a sweet drive to work with. It's performance at the 4GB level is second to none. What shocked me the most was the ATV Turbo's ability to survive extreme temperatures without any degradation to performance. From frozen to wet to dry in about 30 minutes.
