The main feature of this keyboard is the customizable illumination. Although it won't really help you when doing your daily work, it does help when gaming in a dark environment such as at a LAN gaming event. The lighting does help surprisingly well in those situations and you won't be hunting for keys you cannot see anymore.

The multimedia keys worked brilliantly with ITunes and windows media player. All the buttons give a responsive feed back and I was skipping through hours off music while browsing and gaming. Changing the Backlighting was effortless and I was dimming away at the control for that perfect lighting, I even found myself changing the Backlight to suit what mood I was in, Red for when I felt a bit mad and Blue for when I felt calm and collective.

Today we take a look at the Saitek Pro Gamer command unit, which promised a solution for all sorts of games from RPG to FPS the command unit covers them all. The big question is though will a seasoned gamer like me benefit from using this or will it just be another gimmick for the cupboard, lets find out shall we...

Saitek is not the first company to launch a device that is supposed to replace the keyboard for gamers. Belkin has offered the Nostromo Speedpads for some time and some of you might remember the Claw from Australia. However, the Pro Gamer Command Unit - PGCU for short in this review - differs from the above by having more keys - backlit ones at that - while also being extremely customisable and it's got a mini hat switch...

The Saitek Eclipse is probability the best keyboard I have used the key response is perfect so is the excellent build quality, Saitek have only used the best materials for the eclipse and it shows in the finished product being able to take nearly a seven foot fall and not even lose a key is impressive in anybodies book, not only that it has a backlit system that should have been completed years ago. As I said earlier in this review choosing a keyboard is a personal thing and one mans Gold is another mans poison but I would recommend to anyone looking for a board to take a look at the Saitek before any other...

The Saitek is undeniably attractively priced at only £26.99 but what makes a good mouse really does come down to personal preference. Personally I'd spend more and go for a Razor Diamondback. But if you can give the Saitek a try in a store and like its feel, then you won't be disappointed - at least once you've taken control of the unruly software...

The mouse is excellent to use and I never thought I would change my diamond back for anything. But being a reviewer that was a bit of a silly quote. But I would strongly advise buying this mouse, for one I think it is better than the diamond back, 2. Retailing at 99.9% of shops up to 20% cheaper than the diamond back makes it and obvious choice. Highly recommended and will not disappoint. Saitek certainly have entered the keyboard and mouse market with a bang.

The P3000 is well worth the money and performs flawlessly. This is without a doubt the best gamepad on the market for PCs. The buttons were firm and responsive and I experienced no lag when gaming with the pad. The existing batteries could use some overhauling or tweaking to eliminate the odd behaviors when they are low.

To many people, the keyboard is one of the most subjective PC-related purchases to be made, so Saitek's latest unit is a strong product. Aiming - as you'd expect from the name - at the serious gaming audience, it is nonetheless hardly likely to alienate those simply looking for a comfortable input device to work with.
