Samsung is a big name in electronics, be it memory chips, LCD panels, televisions and much more. What we hold here is the Samsung SE-W164, an external DVD Writer that can burn media at a speed faster than what you can easily acquire at your local brick and mortar store. An external burner allows you to record DVDs off any computer that has a USB 2.0 connection. Think this is something you could use? Read on to get more details and to find out how well it performs...

Samsung YP-U1Q's generous 2GB capacity and low price are hard to ignore. It's also small, light and generally well designed, boasts decent file support and a fold-away USB connector. It's nice that you can use it to double as a USB flash drive too and, more importantly, it's a superlatively easy machine to operate. In fact for anyone who has a library of paid-for downloaded DRM WMA music, or is looking for cheaper alternative to Apple's Nano range, this is one of the best options out there at the moment. And you can't ask for much better than that...

The Samsung LE32T51BX is a no-nonsense 32" HD Ready LCD TV that retails in Bennetts Electrical at £898 including the dreaded VAT. Its brightness is good at a claimed 500cd/m2 and its contrast is quoted at a rather extreme 2000:1, though as we'll discuss later there's a little trickery involved there...

Samsung should be applauded for breaking into the SATA optical drive market; something that I wish all the other manufacturers would do. The SATA standard allows for tidier system internals, especially if you're building a small form factor machine. The SH-W163 may be missing some of the features offered by other IDE drives, but if you want leave the older I/O standard behind for good, this drive is definitely worth a look...

Samsung YP-Z5 4GB - supposedly the final answer to the iPod nano 4G. The new flash player on the market has the markings of iPod Killer written all over it. Again. But could it be for real this time? Samsung, the chief flash supplier for Apple's iPod nano can deliver the same 4GB of flash memory for the same $249. Paul Mercer, the man behind the iPod's oh-so-praised interface is the one who designed the interface for the YP-Z5. Fierce competition indeed. Read on to see how this new contender fairs against the reigning champion...

Like the Dell, the Samsung SyncMaster 244T is a high-specification TFT monitor with a 24in widescreen panel, and also like the Dell, it sports a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution. However, the Samsung uses a newer panel than the Dell and manages a response time of 6ms, compared to the 16ms seen on the Dell. That said, Dell has announced a new 24in display in Japan which sports a 6ms response time - I'm assuming it will use the same panel as this Samsung...

The aptly named Samsung YP-U1ZB MP3 player is no larger than an iPod Shuffle, has 1GB of memory (good for about 330 songs at 3MB apiece), and unlike the screenless iPod Shuffle utilizes a nice black and white back-lit LCD display that's actually legible in direct sunlight. The Samsung YP-U1ZB draws power from an internal rechargeable Li-polymer battery (non-removeable) that puts out roughly 13-hours of music. Best of all, the whole contraption recharges right in the USB slot with the same USB2.0 jack it uses for moving data...

It's no secret that Samsung makes high quality phones; in fact, today they are one of the main providers of mobile phones to cellular carriers. One of Samsung's latest phone offerings, the A950 for Verizon Wireless, is a great mix of features and showcases Verizon's new VCAST service stupendously. However, the phone does have a few flaws, such as a high price and crippled software. Read our full review for the whole scoop...

In today's highly competitive digital media player market dominated by Apple's iPod Samsung's YP-T8Z does an excellent job holding its ground. Though not the 'iPod slayer', this feature- filled digital audio player lives up to it's title as the all-in-one digital audio player with text, pictures, videos, games, FM radio, and USB host support. Although Samsung's YP-T8Z is priced relatively high in comparison to other flash storage based media players the large 1.8" vibrant TFT screen and long battery life justify it's price, after all features, usability and convenience add up separating good products from superb products...

Windows Mobile Smartphones are pretty widely available these days, both from operators and SIM free. But Windows Mobile Smartphones with hard drives in them are another matter. Until recently there weren't any at all but now there are, though admittedly you can only choose from a range of one. This is the Samsung's i300. It's available only from O2 and will cost you £50 on one of its pay monthly contracts. And it has a drive capacity of 3GB...Read on...

The Samsung SPP-2040 Photo Printer being put through its paces in this PCSTATS review prints 4"x6" glossy photo's via the dye sublimation process directly from any of six common flash media formats, incorporates a folding 2" colour LCD screen for previewing images, and can connect directly to PictBridge-enabled digital cameras. The Samsung SPP-2040 will print a colour 4"x6" image in about 70 seconds or less at 300x300dpi, and it allows some simple image manipulation without the need for a computer...

The Digimax L55W is a solidly made and well designed camera from a much-improved brand, offering a good specification and excellent performance at a bargain-basement price. The movie mode is good, the bizarre frames are just silly, however it is the wide-angle widescreen capability that really sets the L55W apart. There's nothing else on the market that can do what this camera does. It's just a shame that the image quality doesn't live up to it...

If you are in the market for a new flat panel TV, the HP-R4252 should definitely be on your short list. As with most Samsung products I have reviewed in the past, Samsung quality and dependability is nothing short of excellent. Although this multimedia plasma display is rather heavy and cumbersome, once setup you will reap the rewards of having a high quality flat panel plasma TV to show off to your friends and family...
