Printing at home does have its advantages over printing from a lab, but those advantages come with a cost, the SPP-2040 itself retails for around 200 Canadian Dollars, while less than other printers on the market it's not exactly budget friendly - and even more so when the consumables are added. In comparison to lab prints, the SPP-2040 put up quite a fight; easily crushing Kinkos, but slightly behind Blacks. Ever since the existence of photo printers, it was widely known that printing from home would cost significantly more per print than printing from a store, but for some the convenience is well worth the cost...

Samsung had to pull out all the engineers in their design department to pack such an array of functionality into a device that won't even cover a deck of poker cards. I have to hand it to them for jamming everything this device, and still keeping it easy to use and completely functional. The video quality is actually quite good when set to the maximum resolution and quality, the MP3 player works as stated, the voice recorder is superb and having the potential of having a 2.5Gb portable hard drive in your pocket when you take advantage of the external memory capacity alone is a lot to ask out of one product...

I liked the SyncMaster 930BF, though there really isn't much to complain about, nor is there much to sing about. And while it doesn't seem to carry a lot of character at first glance, this ends up being more of a strong point than a negative on its particular case. Good looks and visuals, fast gaming performance, space saving design, this is an overall solid LCD monitor. The 930BF weighs in around $440 bucks. It's not the cheapest in the market, but it's also not the most expensive. When it comes to speed, this monitor is king. A 4ms refresh rate is very fast by LCD standards, so you can tell Samsung put some emphasis on gaming when creating the 930BF...

The D600 is a great looking phone with a screen that puts other handsets to shame. The feature set is very impressive, which makes the lack of voice dialling all the more bizarre. The camera takes great pictures and video and the memory card slot means that you can store as much data as you like. It's also good to see a USB cable in the box for PC synchronisation, while the TV-out cable is an added bonus. Obviously hardcore Nokia fans or Sony/Ericsson addicts will turn their nose up at a Samsung phone, but they will be missing out on what is, essentially one of the best handsets on the market right now...

As the player snugly rests in my hand I can contemplate just what I can find as a fault with this player. To be honest, I can't find many. The player in my mind is essentially flawless. Everything works, everything is built well (including the excellent headphones), and the buyer will be happy to find out that this player can be setup and loaded in under 5 minutes thanks to the USB2.0 capability...

The compact little 17" screen of the Samsung Syncmaster 173P+ boasts a native resolution of 1280x1024 pixels. It is pretty clear by looking at the three separate colour test patterns that issues with ghosting are reduced on the 8ms gray-to-gray panel. Its industry standard dot pitch of 0.264mm makes for a crisper image from the a-si TFT/PVA panel than many 19" LCDs can muster. The Samsung 173P+ does retail a bit higher than the average 17" LCD will, priced about $570USD, but it does offer up a contrast ratio of 1500:1 and brightness value of 270 cd/m2. Viewing angles on the Samsung 173P+ break the barrier at 178 degrees horizontal/vertical...

Samsung's SP-R4212 has certainly been able to change my experience in watching movies and playing video games. While it's not truly HDTV, for the price you pay, it certainly gives you a great bang for the buck. Those who are looking for an HDTV, Samsung has the model up from the SP-R4212 and it has native support...

Samsung was a latecomer to the laser printer market, compared with the likes of Canon, HP and Lexmark, but the price/performance ratio of both its monochrome and colour printers has earned it a deserved section of the business market. The CLP-510 is a high-end personal printer or a low-end workgroup one, at a price that should be affordable for anyone who needs a colour laser. This is a substantial printer, more like a desktop photocopier in size and weight and it sits sideways on the desktop like most photocopiers, too. Its control panel lies along one of its longer sides, the paper tray takes sheets up to A4 in landscape mode and the front cover flips down like a copier, if you need to attend to paper jams - we didn't...

Samsung has a massive line up when it comes to monitors and their LCD selection is as vast as any other manufacturer. There doesn't seem to be an end to the available models and the specifications that go along with them. The SyncMaster 940B that I will be looking at today is a 19" 1280x1024 8ms digital and analog LCD monitor that is big, sleek, and refined to the point that it is just sexy...

The Samsung SC-D6040 DuoCam is a true hybrid video camcorder and digital still camera packaged in one body. It has two completely separate imagers, electronics and zoom lenses. Most of the other 'hybrid' cameras use a common imager and lens and don't really do all that well at capturing high resolution still images. The DuoCam has a 680K pixel CCD imager for the camcorder side along with a 10x optical zoom lens and stores MPEG4 encoded video on standard MiniDV cassette tapes. And it has a 4-megapixel CCD imager for the digicam side combined with a larger diameter 3x optical zoom lens...

The SyncMaster 920T has all the features needed in a digital monitor including 1000:1 contrast ratio, 178 degree viewing, landscape pivot viewing, adjustable stand, built in speakers and best of all, a relatively decent price tag. If you are in the market for an excellent digital LCD monitor for the new school year...

If you are a yard sale frequent flyer you would probably know there are a lot of VCR tapes floating around for next to no money. Years of the VCR use have not yet come to an end. The DVD took the home entertaining by storm, better quality and more convenience, however having all the components connected together can become cluttering. Samsung has offered an economical solution for space and for less clutter with their DVD-D5500 combo DVD/VCR player. We will be looking at this slim line combo unit that measures in at less than 3.3"

After about eight weeks with this monitor, I'm happy to report that it's excelled in everything I used it for. During this entire period, there was not a single dead or stuck pixel to report. This has always been a concern, but after testing three or four Samsung LCDs, all have been flawless. For the 355 USD this model generally sells for, there's not much more you can ask for without significant price increases. The 915N is ideal for those who want to find a balance between performance and price...
