Ever wanted a guide on hard drive performance, where you can compare the performance of a wide range of hard drives? With 25 hard disk drives for comparison, the guide is fleshing out nicely.
In this performance comparison guide, we will test and compare the performance of all the hard drives we can get our hands on. This is similar to what we are doing in the Intel Core 2 Processor Performance Comparison Guide.

" Today for review I?ve got another product from our friends are Geeks.com. It?s a portable 7? LCD TV from Dynex, and it?s not a bad little gadget especially if you want to watch TV on the go. Included with the TV is two power adapters, one for the home and one for the car so you?re sure to always have power. There?s also an A/V input cable included so you can hook up a DVD player to it or even a gaming console. It?s not a bad little TV overall.."

The ASRock A330ION motherboard is interesting in many respects. The first is that the system supports an external graphics card via a PCI Express 2.0 x 16 slots. That means if you want to use a Radeon HD 5870 video card you can, depending on the size of the case you install this motherboard into. The second point is that it supports RAID 0, 1 among four SATA drives meaning multi-terabyte RAID arrays a possibility. The motherboard has support for DDR3 memory, another difference versus the Intel platform which does not yet support it.

"Today we have the opportunity to look at a new motherboard from ASRock. Established in 2002, ASRock is a company that is still a bit on the small side when compared to some of the big guns out there. Despite being on the small side I am confident they are planning on making some big waves with the center piece of today's article, the ASRock X58 Extreme3. The ASRock X58 Extreme3 aims to be a top notch board with a rock bottom price. Coming in at only $199.99 it is currently the only motherboard below the $200 price barrier that offers the most current features. Features such as USB 3.0, SATA 3, and E-SATA3 are going to set the ASRock X58 Extreme3 apart from its low cost brethren!"

"Working with a concept designed many years ago, Cooler Master has decided to revamp another of their work horses like when they redid the CM 690 not to long ago. Cooler Master pulled the Vortex 752 from the shelf and thought of what they can do to make this cooler capable of handling the heat of today?s more demanding multi-cored processors. To the think tank they went and they have come back with the Vortex Plus.
At first glance they are very similar, although I will be sure to point out all of the changes. Let?s see what exactly it is that Cooler Master has brought this time and see for ourselves if this is in fact a capable cooler for the masses."

"AMD is well known for producing a range of good value for money processors which often excel in different areas such as thermal performance and low power draw. Today we are going to look at three of AMDs latest Athlon II CPUs: the X2 255, X3 440 and X4 635 as well as the Phenom II X2 555 CPU on an ECS A795GM-AD3 motherboard to find out what performance AMD offer in the sub $120/£99 market segment."

"Dynatron's Genius G950 heatsink stands a modest 148mm tall and weighs 795 grams. The heatsink makes use of two independent array's of aluminum fins, positioned fore and aft of a single 120mm PWM inset fan. The fan spins by default at a speed of 1600RPM, but will run fairly effectively at 1000RPM as well. Four 6mm diameter heatpipes support the aluminum fins, which have received a simple dip along a center 64mm stretch to enhance airflow, according to the manufacturer."

"GMC might have started in this review as being a relatively unknown brand (it's the first of their products we've reviewed here at LR), but to me they've come away with a great first impression. The construction of the case is one of quality, the whole case feels very sturdy, and there was practically no give when I tested the rigidity of the side panels. GMC's slogan is "Design and Innovate" and their H-80 definitely shows a lot of innovative design features. The GMC H-80 is an ATX Mid-Tower case that is solidly built and has plenty of features to make for a great system build..."

The Lenovo S10-3t ("t" is for touch) is the latest iteration of the S10 netbook, and it's also one of the first IdeaPad machines to incorporate Intel's newest Atom processor. The 1.83GHz Atom N470 at the heart of the S10-3t should improve performance somewhat, and the inclusion of Windows 7 Home Premium also gives a fresh face to a line that was previously saddled with Windows XP. The design here has also been stepped way up, with funky overlays splattered about and a swivel display that can pivot 180-degrees in either direction or be flipped entirely to "iPad mode." We made that last bit up, but it can definitely become a full-on tablet with just a swing and a click...

Logitech's G110 is a worthy successor to the G11 keyboard for macro junkies who don't have a need for an LCD display but want all the other frills gaming keyboards have to offer. The only disappointment to be had is that by the omission of a green backlighting channel, the G110's configurable backlighting is rather limited compared to the rest of Logitech's 2009 lineup.

"With traditional hard drives becoming somewhat of a mass storage platform and SSDs taking over as the dominant boot drive, there are quite a few companies diving head first into this market to cash in on the phenomenon. However today we arn't looking at a Solid State Disk from the usual people, this one is from a new kid on the block.
Mach Extreme Technology are a startup firm offering SSDs of multiple sizes, with a fancy artistic edge that they hope will seperate them from the competition. Lets see if that plays out. "

"The NVIDIA Zotac GTX 480 arrived Technic3D. Technic3D will check the "Frame-Monster" in the following Review with a Resolution from 2560x1600, 1920x1200, 1680x1050 and many more in Games, against other Graphic Cards. Better with the AMD HD 5870?"

The NZXT IU01 is a simple device that could greatly enhance the functionality of any computer case. While it isn't a must have item, it should have appeal to many enthusiasts who could either use some extra power to their front panel USB ports, use a few more internal USB connectors, or would like to mount some permanently connected USB devices inside their case.

The PowerColor PCS+ AX5870 1GBD5-PPDHG2 graphics card is one of several new HD 5800-series video cards released by ATI AIB partners in the last couple months that follow a new design pattern. Advances in power-semiconductor packaging have allowed for a simpler VRM implementation that consumes much less real estate on the board. At the same time, the use of a down-flow HSF arrangement eliminates the dead spots found below and behind the blower wheel on the reference design. The combination makes for a smaller, more efficient, and more reliable card that's less costly to produce. I call that progress, but there are others who bemoan the process of removing cost from a design. I can understand the angst if functions and features are being removed, but finding a cheaper way to deliver the same performance is a good thing. Benchmark Reviews has tested some ATI Radeon HD 5870 video cards already, so the performance and features of the GPU are hardly n! ews, but we thought it was time to sample one of the new 2nd generation cards and see how the design has matured. Please follow along as we give you a detailed look at one of the latest high-end Radeons from PowerColor.
