The Altair A380 is an affordable slim HTPC case, with a very clean look coupled with a very durable construction. The included power supply is 80 Plus certified and can easily power today's mATX boards with multi core CPUs. Also included is an infrared remote control which is compatible with Windows Vista.

This case works well for a basic HTPC build and supports both Micro ATX and full ATX motherboards, but unfortunately there are a few shortcomings that keep it from being a fierce competitor in the case market. The inclusion of a remote, internal card reader and PSU add a lot of convenience but with only 220W of power, hardware must be planned out accordingly.

GlacialTech has a new case on the market, the Altair A380 Media Center PC Case, which is designed to look like a component in a home theater and not like a typical computer. This review will cover the black version, and with the option to also choose silver, there shouldn't be a home theater system out there that this case wouldn't look right at home in.

GlacialTech may not be a name that comes to your mind when you think of home theater PC enclosures, but perhaps after reading our review you might change your mind. The Altair A380 offers you room for a single optical drive and a pair of hard drives, which should allow you to store more than enough movies or songs to last through the winter nights.

With the holiday season quickly coming upon us, the talk of gift ideas is becoming a daily occurrence. If you are reading this review, then the talk must be including computer ideas and projects. What better way to say you love someone than with a HTPC enclosure from GlacialTech? I know this isn't a full blown HTPC system, but it's a start to something you can custom build. The GlacialTech Altair A380 is an aluminum HTPC enclosure that can be found in silver or black. The side, top, and rear panels have been slotted for maximum cooling and it includes a power supply, which not too many enclosures include these days. The front panel of the A380 has a very clean look going for it, with a front panel card reader and I/O powers, power/reset buttons, a single 5.25" opening, IR port for the included remote control, and of course those wonderful LED's.
