Canon Rebel series Digital SLR camera carries the old tradition for the enthusiasts. This 2007 Rebel model XTi priced at around $800 makes it easy for the novice and the more demanding users may find it adequate in most of everything they ask for at below $1,000 price range.

The Canon HV20 may not have every feature the semi-professional might want, but it has the most important ones on offer, with excellent image quality to match.

Canon has finally got around to producing a printer with pigment inks. The top-of-the-line PIXMA Pro9500 uses no less than 10 'Lucia' inks, but also produces outstanding black-and-white prints - especially on matte paper. Not only that, but the A3+ printer looks the business: it has a relatively low profile and the black-and-grey design gives it a sophisticated appeal. The large silver buttons beg to be pressed, and the two wheels on the back are a great feature if you ever need to move the unit to do some straight path printing.

The Canon PowerShot SD1000 digital ELPH is an ultra compact camera no bigger than the size of a pack of cigarette. In Europe and Asia it is known as Canon IXUS 70. Designed as a point and shoot camera, it contains some features suitable for some tuff tasks in its price range. Let's find out how this little guy performs

With this in mind, this week I'm taking a look at the IXUS 75, the 7-megapixel replacement for the IXUS 65, launched in February this year. Like the 65, which it closely resembles, it is a high-spec ultra-compact, featuring an f/2.8 - 4.9 3x zoom lens with a focal length range equivalent to 35-105mm, a large 3-in LCD monitor and face detection focusing. It is ultra-compact in size, measuring 91.6 x 56.8 x 19.6mm and weighing 130g minus battery or card. It's neither the smallest nor the lightest camera on the market, but it will still slip easily into a shirt pocket.

It's the flagship of Canon's Digital IXUS range, the 900 Ti launched last September. It's a high-spec pocket compact camera, featuring a 3x zoom lens, 10.0-megapixel 1/1.8" CCD sensor, 1600 ISO maximum sensitivity and a 2.5-in 230k LCD monitor. If that wasn't enough it also has a titanium body. Titanium, as I'm sure you're aware, is a metal which is stronger and lighter than steel, and is able to withstand the temperatures and stresses of sustained speeds over Mach 3, which is sure to come in handy. It's also a very pretty metal, giving the IXUS 900 a lovely matt bronzy-grey finish which is beautifully set off by its chrome highlights. It's a very sexy looking camera, and it almost goes without saying that the build quality is fantastic.

For just over a year now, any time anyone has asked me to recommend a good low-cost mid-range camera with manual controls, I have unhesitatingly pointed them at the Canon PowerShot A540, which I reviewed here in May of last year. However my recommendation will be changing from now on, because Canon has recently replaced the deservedly popular A540 with this, the PowerShot A570 IS.

Canon created a range of useful dye-sublimation printers with its first Selphy releases, but now it has come to refresh them it has to inject new life into what are basically very similar designs. Unlike the ES1, which featured a 'sit up and beg' design, the CP750 is small and squat, as earlier Selphys were.

The IXUS 70 has, to say the least, a striking design. Apparently modelled after the original IXUS APS film camera, its shape is a very minimalist plain rectangle, with the lens, the monitor screen and all the rear panel controls mounted smoothly flush with the body. People to whom I showed the camera while I was testing it were divided pretty evenly between those who though it looked cool and stylish, and those who thought it was ugly and boring, which just goes to show that there's no pleasing everyone.

The SD1000 is one of the newest editions of the ELPH series that celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. The film-based original broke the design mold with its classic "box and circle" styling. Now, the SD1000 Digital ELPH has returned to these retro roots on the outside, but inside, it's obviously a completely different breed.

After more than two years in the making, Canon has finally rolled out its next chapter in the high-end DSLR segment, the EOS-1D Mark III. This is Canon's most advanced DSLR camera to date and it's a step up from the old in nearly all departments.

Physically it is very similar to the 350D, with a lightweight and compact body made of tough polycarbonate plastic over a stainless steel chassis, although it is in fact a completely new body. Build quality is very good, with none of the cheap and flimsy feeling of the 300D. The battery and card hatches have metal hinges, and although the port cover is a rubber plug it fits well and will keep dust at bay.
