This board is almost like foreshadowing. It combines technology from ATI in the form of Crossfire and AMD in the form of the AM2 socket onboard. Who would have thought that both companies would actually become the peanut butter and jam of the industry in real life? Anyway, we check out this unofficial union in our review.

ECS continues their trend of trying to produce enthusiast motherboards and is getting ready to release an nVidia 590 SLI motherboard for Intel users. Do they succeed with their Core 2 Duo board based on the Nvidia 590 chipset? With a simple motherboard layout and support for SLI this motherboard should be budget friendly and pack a mean punch. Let's take a look and find out just how Extreme this board is.

From ECS comes another top-range nForce 680i SLI motherboard. The PN2 SLI2+ is unlike the regular Extreme series as ECS opts to market a reference NVIDIA board instead. The good news is that users can look forward to an overclocking BIOS, robust performance and full features.

The ECS KN3-SLI2 board retails online for a mere $119 at the time of this writing. At this price point, the board makes a compelling argument as you get the performance and features of the nForce 590 SLI chipset without having to pay for a premium as you would if you purchase one of the top name brand boards.

There are two x16 PCI Express slots, two x1 and one x2 slots as well as two 32-bit PCI slots. There aren't many add-on cards that can utilize the x1 slot so we would've preferred an additional PCI slot instead. ECS places an additional molex connector onboard recommending its usage an SLI. One thing we found a little strange was the amount of empty space on the backplate- ECS could've easily added the parallel port on the back.

ECS has made some amazing strides in the last few years. They've gone from making low cost, low performance motherboards to being an serious contender in the enthusiast market. ECS has a solid performing motherboard with the KA3 MVP. This motherboard has all the feature that most hardware enthusiast would crave. The only downside to the KA3 is something that is common to all ECS motherboards - they're not very good overclockers. The KA3 does improve on the KA1 in the overclocking department, but only slightly. However, at the price KA3 MVP sells for, you are getting a great bang for your performance buck.

As the basis for a HTPC, this is an excellent choice. The board was designed to be used as a stable platform for desktop and HTPC use and it does this job with aplomb. I feel that anyone looking for an inexpensive motherboard for a HTPC will find this board offers everything they are looking for, including the low price.

The ECS P965T-A is a solid board on what is now arguably the fastest platform for near any task, provided you've got the right CPU of course. ECS has given this board a lot to make it appealing to your average user, but has also left a lot out that would have otherwise made it a real winner for the enthusiast. The board has been incredibly stable and performs well, but until something more is done to this boards BIOS what you see is what you get.

ECS has updated their exceptional budget board - the C19-A SLI - with new Core 2 Duo support. Tagged as the NFORCE 570 SLIT-A, it gets a new name, but it is essentially the same board beneath. If you need SLI support on the cheap, this may be a good place to start your hunt.

When it comes to high-end, uber-overclocking, record-breaking motherboard manufacturers, you usually do not think about the ECS. ECS has been a huge OEM for many years, and has never really produced anything that would be considered top-dog as far as performance goes. They did have the K7S5A that may bring back a lot of memories (good and bad) for those that have been in the overclocking scene for awhile. I went through a few of those boards myself! Today, we have the ECS KA3MVP Extreme motherboard to look at. ECS touts this board, as the name suggests, as an MVP board and they say it is extreme. Well, let's take a look at the board and see if it is all that!

The ECS KA3 MVP is the first CrossFire Xpress 3200 AM2 motherboard to hit the market. It's based on the same RD580 northbridge that we saw on socket 939 variants of CrossFire Xpress 3200, but comes with the all-new and improved SB600 southbridge. The KA3 comes with an attractive price and a good feature set that should suit a wide range of end users. We run it through our battery of tests to find out if it is worth shouting about.

Lately, Elite Computing Systems has been targeting a larger audience with enthusiast boards with the new AM2 socket. The C51GM-M is the perfect mATX board to start your next mini-PC. With the new nVidia nForce 410 AM2 chipset teamed up with a GeForce 6100 IGP, DDR2 memory and a, just recently, price ruduced AMD AM2 processor, you will be well on your way to a power-PC without burning the wallet!

ECS RS482-M Radeon Xpress 200 motherboard The
board we're looking at is a budget offering, with integrated Xpress
200 graphics and Socket 939 processor support. Of course, it's a PCIe
board and Socket 939 still has plenty of life left in it yet, even for
high performance systems. So, could this uATX board prove to be a
board that's good for having a bit of fun on a budget?

ECS attempts to take on the big boys with an attractively priced board that gives SLI hungry Intel users a reason to drool. At first glance, the C19-A SLI sports some really spartan features, but once you take this nForce4 SLI XE powered motherboard on a test run, you won't be looking back. Read on...

The ECS KA1-MVP Extreme is one of the new breeds of ATi CrossFire Xpress 1600 motherboards. The board supports Socket 939 Athlon64/X2/FX processors as well as up to 4GB of PC3200 system memory thanks to the four dual channel DDR-RAM slots. Other standard features include two network cards (one Gigabit, one 10/100), an additional Silicon Image SiI3132 Serial ATA II/RAID controller, IEEE 1394a and 7.1 channel audio...
