It seems like after a long slumber, the HP giant has finally woken up to introduce a new lineup of multimedia-centric Pavilion notebooks, which includes the dv9014tx. As sexy as it is capable, the dv9014tx 17-inch notebook represents almost everything a sleek multimedia notebook should be.

Today we have the dc7700p from HP in our labs and, aside from being a small business desktop, it has one very interesting feature we've not had a look at before. It's called Intel vPro Technology and it's something that could revolutionise the IT support industry.

HP has come up with something that looks rather different from the norm. It is all round silver, which these days is the exception rather than the rule. Most of the casing is plastic, and the battery cover feels rather flimsy. There is a nasty plastic cover which protects the screen - but doesn't stretch far enough down the front fascia to protect the front buttons too.

This is a big printer, but has a solid, professional feel. Large areas of plastic in A3+ printers often feel flimsy, but not here. It has a functional design - boxy, but with a curved front edge. The main paper tray, which can be used for any paper from 15 x 10cm to A3+ paper, extends, so you only need to open it up when using larger sizes. The cover telescopes out, too.

The all-in-one machine has been the big hit in printing over the last five years, but nearly all of these have been in ink-jet machines. HP's Color LaserJet CM1017MFP is only the second generation of all-in-ones based on colour laser technology. Although it appears to have a heavy price premium, this is a new model and you can expect street prices to come through considerably lower than quoted here.

The HP LP2465 24-inch LCD monitor is the newer, bigger brother to the HP L2335 23-inch monitor we reviewed a couple years ago.

The Photosmart 8750 Professional is a very versatile printer, which can handle a wide variety of sizes and types of media. It produces very good print at reasonable costs and, unlike most of its main competitors, provides useful facilities for quick photo prints from cards and cameras. At the price, it has a lot going for it.

Black has always been the color of status. Apple charges an extra $150 for a matte black MacBook. Fashion houses typically consider their "Black Label" the highest-end collection. Even Mercedes has joined the club with their SLK 55 AMG Black. The latest company to join this club is HP. Their entry? The HP Pavilion dv2000t. It features an all-new, scratch- resistant, high-gloss piano black finish that's accented with a subtle wave pattern. The last time a notebook ever looked so stylish was the Japanese IBM ThinkPad 10th Anniversary Limited Edition X30. There's no doubt that the dv2000t is one of the best looking laptops on the market, but does it have the substance behind the style?

The PDA itself is a good example of the genre. It?s small, light and quite pocket friendly, but reasonably powerful too. Powered by Windows Mobile 5, you get mobile versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer out of the box. The 3.5in display is only QVGA (320 x 240), which with many phones such as the Sony Ericsson K800i offering the same resolution, actually seems quite low considering the size of the screen. The display is bright and clear and while it?s not the best I?ve seen, it?s still better than that on my TomTom One, with superior contrast and richer colours, though the GPS software really doesn?t make any use of this.

The HP LP2465 24-inch LCD monitor is the newer, bigger brother to the HP L2335 23-inch monitor we reviewed a couple years ago. Designed with the office in mind, the LP2465 leaves some of the styling out of the mix, instead focusing more on what?s important to the office setting; a large quality display with quick response rates and plenty of adjustability options. Gamers have a lot to be excited about as well, although this may not be the end-all monitor they were looking for. The LP2465 has a street price of around $850 dollars.

This is an inexpensive colour laser printer to buy and is easy to maintain and use. It prints quietly and with a minimum of fuss, but colour output is not as natural as with some others and you may need to tweak the software to get the tints you want. It's also quite costly to run, with page costs at the upper end of the bracket for this class of colour printer...

Not so long ago, a budget notebook meant a big compromise in terms of build quality and feature set, but these days you can pickup a reasonably specced notebook, from a tier one manufacturer for far less than you might think. One such notebook is the HP Pavilion dv5046EA - a notebook that looks good, has a decent spec and carries a brand name big enough to give peace of mind to many consumers...

If you spend much of your working life on the move, you'll probably carry a notebook PC with you. So, how do you get prints from it? You could pop into an Internet cafe and hope they have something compatible, or you can carry a printer with you. HP's DeskJet 460wbt is designed for print-on-the-move, offering high-quality output in a small, light (comparatively) box, with battery power and easy connection through WiFi or Bluetooth...
