The world is cluttered with the dead and dying remains of poorly designed, mass-produced OEM pc cases, but you won?t find one at my place. As a hardware enthusiast I expect more from my cases. There has to be plenty of space inside them. They have to be well-made. Cutting edge innovation isn't necessary, but I do prefer to see some thought going into the making of a case. To be honest, I'm quite tired of the cookie cutter cases some of the industry has been churning out over the last few years. Today I'm reviewing the Silverstone SST-KL03B-w. Will it make the grade? Silverstone is well-known for making quality enclosures, particularly for its high end cases, in both the full-tower and home theatre pc format. Given this pedigree, I expect this case will be no different.

SilverStone opened its doors in 2003 and quickly became known for its stylish and quality system enclosures (that's fancy for "computer cases"). Headquartered in Taiwan, they also have corporate offices in the USA and Germany. Along with diversifying their location, they have diversified their product line. SilverStone sells hard drive enclosures, CPU coolers, system fans and, you guessed it, power supplies! We have one of SilverStone's PSU on the bench today in fact.

SilverStone Technologies, founded in 2003, has in less than five years become one of the industry leaders in PC power supplies. Though probably not as well known as some of the popular companies who have recently branched out into the power supply field, SilverStone's robust PSUs are well respected by those who are serious about power supplies. SilverStone was one of the first two companies to receive SLI certification from nVidia. The DA800, being a new model, has not received its SLI certification by nVidia, but both the DA750 750 watt, and the DA850 850 watt models of the Decathlon line have been certified for a pair of 8800GTXs, so I can assume that it will receive the same rating.

Got a hankering for a new case? Been bit by the water cooling bug? Having a bit of trouble reconciling the two? You should have a look at SilverStone's TJ10B. Despite the nay-sayers claiming it's not ideal for water-cooling, you might just be surprised!

For this review I will be looking at a product from the highly respected pc hardware manufacturer SilverStone. The product up for review is in fact a hard drive caddy / enclosure, not a typical 3-1/2" caddy this is a sleek caddy for a 2-1/2" drive and as a bonus it comes with a docking station, it is the MS05 from SilverStone. All will be revealed in the review.

The increasing demand for high capacity mobile storage solutions drives consumers towards 2.5" HDDs and external enclosures. A 2.5" HDD requires minimal power to operate, while it can also offer the large storage capacity needed for regular back-ups or large file transfers. Transferring large amounts of data over the USB bus can be a nightmare for many people who need to be on the move quickly. 2.5" drives are considerably larger than flash drives and, in many cases; the enclosures are not sturdy enough to protect the sensitive disk drives. The answer to these problems, according to SilverStone, is the MS05 enclosure. The MS05 is made out of aluminum, comes with a docking bay and offers not only a USB port but an eSATA port as well, which is considerably faster.

If there is a single thing that SilverStone can consistently be depended on year after year, it is the fact that they produce some of the most compelling and beautiful enclosures on the market today. Having been in the enclosure manufacturing business since 2003, SilverStone has quickly established itself as one of the premiere chassis and accessory producers in the world. Well known for their exquisite craftsmanship and use of quality materials, SilverStone continues to thrive in a market that is both diverse and finicky.

For this review I will be looking at a product from highly respected pc hardware manufacturer SilverStone. The product up for review is in fact another power supply, not your "normal" run of the mill power supply as it is the DA700 a 700 watt power supply from the Decathlon range. With the DA700 coming from a company with a reputation like SilverStone has I am expecting nothing but good results, but I guess only time will tell.

Not everyone needs a monstrous 750W+ power supply unit for their everyday home or office PC, but most people would pay for a little extra in order to own a low power, high quality unit. Silverstone hope to address this with the release of the ST35F. The ST35F has a maximum power output of only 350W, more than enough for an average home or office PC which is not designed for heavy gaming or overclocking. Let us have a closer look at it and see if it's worthy of the extra money over an OEM unit.

We expected to see the SilverStone Temjin TJ-10 at CeBIT 2007 back in March but the case wasn't there. Fast forward and it's finally arrived. So was it worth the wait or will Silverstone disappoint us?

With most motherboards these days, you are provided with a more than adequate number of Serial ATA cables and for most users that is good enough. However, if you are in need of additional SATA cables or are just looking for something different, SilverStone has their CP03 and CP04 cables. The CP04 has a SATA 2.0 connector rotated 90 degrees, while both the SilverStone CP03 and CP04 have a metallic EMI guard layer and a sturdy locking mechanism.

The last time we had looked at a SilverStone drive enclosure at Phoronix was in early 2006 when reviewing the SilverStone Storage MS02. This 2.5" IDE hard drive enclosure with a USB 2.0 interface met the SilverStone standards we have come to expect both when it comes to the build quality as well as its looks and performance. With the changing times and increased adoption of Serial ATA, SilverStone recently introduced their MS05, which supports 2.5" SATA drives while this aluminum enclosure has both a eSATA and USB 2.0 interface along with having a 3.5" docking station.

Silverstone introduced a compact external water cooling kit, named the Tundra TD01 a while ago, we stress test this silent cooling solution with a hot running P4 as well as a more eco-friendly Celeron CPU. Does it stand a chance against a high end air cooling setup? We'll find out.

SilverStone sent us their Kublai 01 chassis, aimed at enthusiasts that require a finely balanced system with cooling and quietness but without the extra features from the flagship Temjin series chassis. KLO 1 features traditional interior layout, but it is highly organized and tuned for quiet operation and effective cooling.

Out of all of the cases I've had, I don't have to stop and think which one was my favorite. Hands down, the case I liked the most was a Silverstone Temjin TJ-05, the original model. It is big and beautiful, and I used words in my review like elegant and regal about it. It was the first large case I owned, the first with twin 120mm fans, the first that would hold more than three hard drives (it will hold seven), and a few other firsts for me. I still like it today as much as I did in 2003 when I reviewed it. I have had three different rigs in it, and I will undoubtedly use it again someday, unlike the other 6 or so unused cases that accompany it in my shed. So it stands that I feel Silverstone builds a fine case, along with their other fine products, which includes enclosures, power supplies, and cooling solutions. Will the KL01 live up to my expectations for quality and innovation? We'll see.
