Sony, BenQ to Launch 22x DVD Burners in Q3
Sony and BenQ have been added in the list of ODD makers that will release 22x DVD burners this year.
Lite-On IT has reportedly be the hardware maker that will manufacture the new burners on behalf of Sony and BenQ, Digitimes.com reported today citing industry sources in Taiwan.
Asustek, Pioneer, Panasonic and other Japan-based PC vendor are expected to launch 22x DVD burners in the second half of 2008.
In related news, Lite-On IT is cooperating with Germany-based Nero AG, the developer of SecurDisc technology, to begin volume production of DVD burners equipped with SecurDisc data security functions in the third quarter of 2008.
