New London-based Facebook Engineering Team to Focus On Platform And Mobile

Facebook is setting up an engineering team in London that is expected to focus on its platform and mobile development, the company said on Wednesday.

Facebook is hiring for the new engineering team, which will start small, focusing on building a core of engineers, and then grow over time and eventually focus on building products in key areas like mobile and platform.

Facebook is looking for a manager for software engineering, an Android developer, a platform developer, a mobile developer and a tools engineer, according to the current job openings on the social network's London job page.

Facebook says that despite the size of its service - 900 million users and growing - the company still push new code to the site every day.

Other Facebook engineers are located in Menlo Park, New York, and Seattle.
