HTC Releases sub-$200 HTC Desire 200 Smartphone


Details on the HTC Desire 200 smartphone have appeared on HTC's web site, showing a 3.5-inch Android smartphone aimed at low-budget consumers.

The company's first sub-$200 smartphone has a 3.5-inch, 320 x 480 LCD display, it is powered by a Snapdragon S1 1GHz processor; 4GB of expandable storage and 512MB RAM; a 3G modem for HSDPA speeds; 5-megapixel camera; and a pair of Beats Audio in-ears.



The device will go on sale from Wednesday through Taiwan Mobile Co., Taiwan's second-largest mobile service operator, for NT$4,990 (US$167).
