Apple Knocks Samsung Via Twitter


Following the first Galaxy Note 3 reviews that surfaced online today, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing used Twitter to point out Samsung's tricks to allegedly boost benchmark scores.

Phil Schiller is pointing to a report from Ars Technica claiming that the new flagship phablet is inflating benchmarking scores by up to 20 percent.

Schiller, said only one word: "shenanigans."

Ars Technica noticed that the Note 3 outperforms LG's G2 by a wide margin, despite both devices being powered by the same 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, suggesting Samsung is following an overclocking strategy. Renaming a popular benchmarking app eliminated the performance disparity, confirming that the device operates in a special mode only when running popular benchmarking apps.

Samsung has yet to comment on allegations.

Samsung was also accused of fixing Galaxy S4 benchmarks in a report by AnandTech back in July, something the electronics giant denied.
