The latest attempt by Foxconn to establish itself as a serious enthusiast brand is also its most successful. The Foxconn MARS, hopefully the first of many in their Quantum Force series, has all the makings of high-end motherboard goodness. It overclocks great too. Read on.

Foxconn's MARS motherboard was a breeze to work with, I particularly liked the physical power, reset and clear CMOS buttons. Enthusiasts will find a very tweakable BIOS, and the Gladiator BIOS tools are a real time saver. Be warned though, if you're new to the overclocking game don't go too crazy with the voltage options, you can permanently damage your hardware!

If we take for granted the promised price of 170? for this board, with all the possibilities it has, this is definitely a "Best Buy" motherboard in the upper segment. Foxconn obviously found its path in the multimedia-overclocking philosophy, which is a truly promising concept.

The Foxconn A690GM2MA-RS2H motherboard is based around AMD's 690G / SB600 chipsets, and although it has both DVI and analog video outputs, it regrettably lacks the HDMI jack that many other AMD690G motherboards boast. In any case if you wanted to hook up the Foxconn A690GM2MA-RS2H motherboard to a HDTV, there's always the DVI port.

Foxconn surprised us by introducing their first Intel X38 motherboard under the Digital Life line of boards instead of the performance Quantum Force series. However, the X38A proved to be no push over, coupling great performance, an interesting feature set and a price hard to say no to. Read the full review inside.

The Foxconn Mars is a reasonably good board that overclocks pretty well, but it's not outstandingly fast, particularly cheap and the core bundle is a bit off. The Quantum force is here to stay, and the Foxconn Mars is a solid first effort at an enthusiast board but it's not what it needs to be. Hopefully the company will learn from its mistakes and make an "OMG NEED!" board next time around.

The Foxconn A690GM2MA-RS2H motherboard is High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) compliant. HDCP s a form of Digital Rights Management developed by Intel for high definition digital video and audio content. Whether you like it or not, the HDCP signal travels through the DVI or High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) to HDCP compatible display's.

Can Intel's X38 chipset offer enough to tempt users away from highly-popular motherboards based on the P35 and nForce 680i SLi chipsets? We're taking a look at an early sample of Foxconn's X38A motherboard to try to find out.

We're taking a close look at Foxconn's microATX G33M-S mainboard. This G33-based board sports Intel's latest integrated graphics processor, the GMA 3100, but can that get the better of the current IGP champion, AMD's 690G?

As the anticipation of Intel's upcoming launch for their PCI Express 2.0 compliant core logic chipset, the X38 gets on a high note, we bring you an up close and personal preview of Foxconn's X38A, one of the first Intel X38 motherboards to make its rounds.

Intel's platform design has usually been behind that of the retail market, Intel's onboard graphics are quite basic and can?t really handle much in the way of 3D applications; not to mention they're also a a memory hog, stealing as much bandwidth as possible. With the Intel 3 series chipsets, things have changed; thanks to Vista new features are required to get a motherboard certified for Vista validation, and Intel is definitely one to strive for this. The G33 chipset is the latest instalment from Intel, and it's designed for the Vista environment using its onboard graphics system, the GMA3100.

The industry's abuzz about DirectX10, with nVidia's 8800GTX and Ultra videocards hogging all the attention. But not everyone has the purse for high end extravagances, so does that mean they'll be left DX10 wanting? Not if Foxconn, and their mid-range 8600GTS, have anything to say about it. Follow along as we see if a modestly spec'd DX10 card has enough muscle to handle today's games.

Foxconn A690GM2MA (its full name is A690GM2MA-8KRS2H; we are always amazed by the creativity of motherboard manufacturers) is a socket AM2 motherboard with on-board video based on the latest chipset from AMD/ATI, AMD 690G, also known by its codename RS690. This is the first chipset coming from the collaboration between AMD and ATI, after AMD bought ATI. We were very curious to compare its performance to the previous on-board video solution from ATI, Radeon Xpress 1100, to its main competitors, GeForce 6100 and GeForce 7025 from nVidia, and also to cheap add-in video cards, like GeForce 6200. Let's take a look on the performance and features of Foxconn A690GM2MA.

The 8600 GT overclocked from Foxconn isn't HDCP compliant so it won't work for Blu-ray or HD DVD playback, but it is a very good, low cost DirectX 10 graphics card for gamers shopping in the sub $150 price range. Foxconn's 8600 GT Overclocked graphics card falls right in line with the overclocked 8600 GT cards I have tested previously including the XFX 8600 GT XXX and the EVGA 8600 GT Superclocked.
