Moving onto the card itself, the front looks a bit weird with a large plate covering most of the front and three little pipes heading out the top and going around the back. To the right of the card you can also see a heatsink covering some of the hotter components on the card. The specifications for the 5610 is lower than that of the 5710 so we are not going to be looking at stellar performance numbers, but honestly how low can a product line go. The 5710 were not great performers and border the low end of what a modern day CPU should use for aftermarket cooling performance. With that said though, let's have a look at the specs and see if the GlacialTech 5610 can surprise us.

In this review Frostytech is evaluating the new Glacialtech Igloo 5750 Silent heatsink, a quiet little cooler with double fans and a single power cord for your convenience. This cooler is compatible with socket 775 Intel processors and the full range of AMD K8 CPU's. Made by Taiwanese heatsink manufacturer Glacialtech, the Igloo 5750 Silent is first and foremost a low noise heatsink - so don't let its dual 92mm fans fool you into thinking otherwise.

GlacialTech has a new case on the market, the Altair A380 Media Center PC Case, which is designed to look like a component in a home theater and not like a typical computer. This review will cover the black version, and with the option to also choose silver, there shouldn't be a home theater system out there that this case wouldn't look right at home in.

The GlacialTech IGLOO 5710 Series makes up two of GlacialTech's thirteen current CPU coolers in production. Most of the heatsinks that appear on the GlacialTech website have familiar OEM styling inspiration and I wouldn't be surprised to find that GlacialTech makes OEM coolers for Intel or AMD. The IGLOO 5710 PWM and Silent are low cost solutions so we are not planning on seeing stellar performance numbers from these products, but GlacialTech advertises support for up to 130 watt TDP processors with optimal system cooling. With any luck their 5710 line will surprise us like the Rosewill Z5 did last month.

GlacialTech describes themselves as "a total thermal solution provider ... committed to using lighter weight materials, lower noise and lower manufacturing cost to deliver superior cooling solutions." They are a global corporation that has offered cooling solutions for companies around the world, including the likes of Acer, LG, and BMW. While relatively unknown to the average enthusiast, they are trying to storm into the CPU cooling industry and offer solid third party cooling options for the Do-It-Yourselfers (DIYers).

The Igloo 5710 Silent is shipped with a low noise 1600RPM 92mm fan and a pre-applied patch of thermal compound on its base. A nice touch given its suitability for generic office PCs where non-experts may be tasked with the heatsink's installation.

The Glacialtech Igloo 5610 Silent heatsink is identical the Igloo 5610 PWM model in all ways, except that the two coolers use different fans. The Igloo 5610 Silent that Frostytech is testing in this review has a nice and quiet fixed-speed fan, the previous model a louder PWM fan. Both heatsinks are compact LGA775 compatible CPU coolers and suitable for office PCs.

The Glacialtech Igloo 5610 PWM is a compact LGA775 Intel heatsink suitable for office work computers. It's 80mm fan is Pulse Width Modulation compliant, so Intel motherboards can direct it to spin only as fast as required (from a low 800RPM to moderately audible 3200RPM), thus keeping unnecessary noise down.

GlacialTech may not be a name that comes to your mind when you think of home theater PC enclosures, but perhaps after reading our review you might change your mind. The Altair A380 offers you room for a single optical drive and a pair of hard drives, which should allow you to store more than enough movies or songs to last through the winter nights.

With the holiday season quickly coming upon us, the talk of gift ideas is becoming a daily occurrence. If you are reading this review, then the talk must be including computer ideas and projects. What better way to say you love someone than with a HTPC enclosure from GlacialTech? I know this isn't a full blown HTPC system, but it's a start to something you can custom build. The GlacialTech Altair A380 is an aluminum HTPC enclosure that can be found in silver or black. The side, top, and rear panels have been slotted for maximum cooling and it includes a power supply, which not too many enclosures include these days. The front panel of the A380 has a very clean look going for it, with a front panel card reader and I/O powers, power/reset buttons, a single 5.25" opening, IR port for the included remote control, and of course those wonderful LED's.

The Glacialtech Igloo 5062 Cu Light is a socket 775 cooler for Intel Pentium D, Core 2 Duo and Celeron processors. This allows the Igloo 5062 Cu to operate quietly under power, generating about 45 dBA according to Frostytech's sound meter. The heatsink is compact in size, and weighs a feathery 341 grams. The Igloo 5062 Cu Light ships with a pre-applied patch of high viscosity thermal compound applied to its base which is a nice touch.

The Glacialtech Igloo 5057 E is a socket 775 Intel heatsink for Pentium D, Core 2 Duo and Celeron processors. Owing to its all-aluminum construction, the Igloo 5057E is probably best used on sub-90W processors.

In this review Frostytech will be examining the Glacialtech Igloo 7311 Silent AMD Athlon 64 heatsink. Can this simple extruded aluminum heatsink keep the Athlon64-class processor below running cool? We'll soon find out...

The Glacialtech Igloo 7222 Light heatsink is ideal for energy efficient Socket AM2 AMD processors, or older socket 754/939/940 CPUs. Its 15x70x70mm fan operates at a single speed, and is not temperature responsive. The Igloo 7222 Light has a nice tool free clip mechanism, making a reassuring positive "clip" as it locks down on the central lug of the AMD heatsink retention frame. The unit ships with a pre-applied patch of thermal compound, so installation is a breeze.
