We're writing to let you all know that we have just posted a new article at HotHardware in which we evaluate the features, bundle, overclockability, and performance of XFX's GeForce 8600 GT Fatal1ty. The XFX GeForce 8600 GT Fatal1ty is one of the few GeForce 8600 GT cards on the market today that is not only passively cooled, but factory overclocked as well. And even though its "stock" GPU and memory clock speeds are already well above NVIDIA's reference specifications, we found the XFX GeForce 8600 GT Fatal1ty to have plenty of clock speed headroom left for overclocking. Head on over to the site and check it out...

The cheapest GeForce 8600 GTS out there today will cost you around £110 (inc. VAT), which is another £20 more than the XFX GeForce 8600 GT 620M XXX Edition. First, you have to first ask yourself whether the extra £20 that XFX's card costs over a standard clocked 8600 GT is worth spending, and then you have to ask yourself if it's worth spending another £20 to get an 8600 GTS. Stretching to £90 would be worthwhile, in my opinion, but stretching to £110 will not make as much of a difference.

The XFX 8800 Ultra XXX arrived Technic3D. The Graphic Card XFX NVIDIA 8800 Ultra XXX with 675 MHz Core, 1.150 MHz Memory and 1.667 MHz Shader better than others High-End Graphic Cards? Technic3D will see that, on Windows Vista, in the following Review.

Top gamer Jonathan 'Fatal1ty' Wendel has lent his name to quite a few products, including a line of graphics cards from XFX. This series is now into its second incarnation, with XFX updating the GPU to the new mainstream GeForce 8600 GT. Does it annihilate the opposition like the real player himself?

XFX will be a welcome addition to the motherboard market. If they continue the tradition of great service and support that they have with their video cards to their motherboard line, there will be no doubt that they will succeed in this dog-eat-dog market. The XFX 650i Ultra and XFX 680i LT motherboards would be a great way to upgrade your box to the latest and greatest, and a great way to do it with a well known name...

Passive cooling means absolute silence when gaming or watching movies, from your video card anyhow. XFX has priced the 8600 GT Fatal1ty well, at right around $150 online making this a great card for the price. The XFX 8600 GT Fatal1ty will play all the latest games, including upcoming DirectX 10 titles so you can be ready to game now and in the future. This would make an awesome media center video card.

We take a look at the fastest GeForce 8600 GTS to hit the labs. It also hits your wallet pretty hard, too, so is a case of a fast SKU that's simply overpriced?

As far as the XFX nForce 680i SLI goes, it doesn't have the best warranty period, but it's still a great board and yet again we have great overclocking, super solid stability, great performance and a very user friendly BIOS. If you do find it for the right price compared to the competition, you won't be disappointed.

What about gamers that aren't interested in when nVidia will release the next series and don't care who is winning the graphics card war? As far as they are concerned higher shader clocks mean nothing and their graphics card is perfect for them for as long as they can enjoy their games at reasonable resolutions. This is where Fatal1ty steps in, with his series of products aimed at gamers. They usually aren't the fastest or most feature packed items on the market, but they still stick out because of their exceptional quality and eye-catching design. The fact that the most famous professional gamer stands behind them doesn't hurt either. Couple that with XFX, one of the best graphics cards manufacturers out there and you have (in theory) a very capable partnership.

XFX's GeForce 8800 Ultra 650M Extreme is probably the only 8800 Ultra that represents reasonable value for money at the moment. Until now, GeForce 8800 Ultras from Nvidia's board partners have been priced well out of the reach of most hardcore enthusiasts and thus have only been a viable purchase for those with more money than sense. Thankfully, XFX has delivered a GeForce 8800 Ultra with decent clock speeds and a very aggressive price and until other board partners follow suit, XFX's GeForce 8800 Ultra 650M Extreme is the pick of the bunch.

The positives of the 8800 Ultra are that it is the fastest video card available bar none. The 8800 Ultra is an Overclocked 8800 GTX and performs as such. Video cards like the 8800 GTX and Ultra have the capability of doing DirectX 10 games the visual justice that they require.

Nvidia have held the GFX performance crown for quite some time with the extremely impressive 8800 GTX, so when they announced the "Ultra" a few weeks ago the general consensus was they had yet again pushed the envelope further, albeit with a huge price premium. Everything considered, there will always be a market for these high end cards and with this in mind XFX sent us their new "XXX" Ultra for review, with further improvements on the core, memory and shader clocks. As AMD's graphics card division are yet unable to supply an answer to the older GTX, the Ultra is certain to push the two companies high end products even further apart. With such a high price tag on the Ultra our graphics card guru Stuart "Veridian" Davidson will not only measure the cards real world gaming performance on XP and Vista, but will ascertain if the card is ultimately worth the money.

Lots of people are comparing it to the performance of overclocked 8800 GTX cards too, which sometimes out perform the stock clocked 8800 Ultra. I can't really speak to that since I don't have a stock clocked 8800 Ultra to test. What I can say is that people didn't complain so much when the overclocked 8800 GTS 320MB cards outperformed the stock 8800 GTS cards.

Nvidia also only released one chipset in its nForce 500 series for Intel, however, since it was based on the older, poorly overclocking nForce 4 SPP northbridge, Nvidia quickly dumped 500 series for Intel, which gave birth to nForce 600i series chipsets. Today there are four chipsets in the 600i series, 680i SLI, 680i LT SLI, 650i SLI and 650i Ultra in order from high-end to value. nForce 680i SLI while offering the best features and performance also costs an arm and a leg for just the board, leaving little in the budget for a high-end CPU. Nvidia has however come to the rescue with a slightly cut down version of the 680i SLI, the LT SLI series.
