The card is nothing more than a way of sticking it to AMD and ATI - in a marketing sense - in regards to their upcoming R600 launch later this month. Much like Intel seem to be trying their very hardest to destroy AMD, Nvidia is also giving it their best shot, too. XFX's 8800 Ultra XXX screams along at top speed leaving every other single GPU solution in the dust, there is no doubt about that. However it is safe to say that with word on the street that supply and quantities is very low, Nvidia is not expecting to sell many of these graphics cards. We have even heard from some of Nvidia's partners in Taiwan that they do not even want to touch the tweaked G80 chip in fear that they will not sell. Nvidia believe there will be a few handfuls of ultra high-end extreme users out there that will pay the money just to have the best of the best.

At the sales counter XFX is a company that can be trusted and that is the priceless equation when it comes to making a buying decision. I give the new XFX 680i LT SLI board a Hot Product Award as we all know it's a very solid chipset motherboard and XFX has great customer support. nTune was used first for our overclocking tests and were very surprised to see how well it worked on this board. We were able to achieve an almost 14% gain using NVIDIA's OC tool with our test CPU on the XFX 680I LT SLI board.

NVIDIA has added some new spice to the plate with their introduction of a new value-priced GeForce 8800 GTS video card featuring a 320MB video frame buffer. Built on the exact same high performance platform as the previous 640MB version, this new edition to the family offers all of the same great performance at almost half the cost.

XFX and NVIDA have once again teamed up to bring us another outstanding product in the form of the 8600GTS as it has the right balance of performance versus price ratio. Overclocking seems to be very good as well as the card comes overclocked right out of the box, which is something that will set well with the gamers' community. XFX as always offers their double lifetime warranty, which allows the card to maintain its warranty status through a transfer to one additional person. This is a cool thing if you buy the card from a buddy or someone on eBay who has previously registered the card with XFX.

Gamers shopping for a cheap graphics card will be hard pressed to find a better card to spend their $169 on. The XFX 8600 GT performs well given its price tag, only takes up a single slot making it great for use in media center systems that will see gaming duties and carries the fantastic XFX Double Lifetime Warranty.

There is little doubt that if what you are after is the fastest 8600 GTS around you need to be shopping XFX. The XFX 8600 GTS XXX is a very good graphics card for gaming on common 17" and 19" LCD displays and larger if you can stand to loose some image quality.

The XFX GeForce 8600 GT is a single slot design that requires no additional power connector for operation. This makes the board very energy efficient as it has a maximum power draw of just 43 watts. The XFX GeForce 7600 GT has a is maximum power draw of 65 watts while the GeForce 6600 GT is 70 watts. For the third generation in a row NVIDIA has been able to decrease the power consumption on their mainstream video cards while adding features and improving performance, which is amazing and something for them to brag about.

New graphics cards are great, especially when they are in the "affordable for most people" range. nVidia's GeForce 8600 and 8500 series has been a long waited product. Why? Most importantly it's the first affordable DirectX 10 capable graphics card from any company and nVidia even have Windows Vista drivers ready for the new range of cards at launch time. This product is so good for the market for two reasons - the first is that consumers who don't have thousands of dollars to spend on a PC can now buy something that is going to offer support for the next generation of graphics (DX10 / Shader Model 4.0 with games like Crysis, Alan Wake and UT2007 coming). The second is because more people will be able to buy these GeForce 8500 and 8500 cards with it's much more attractive price tag, game makers will have even more reason to put resources into making DirectX 10 supported games. The latter is something that is seriously lacking at the moment but the games are on their way slowly but surely.

We have with us today the GeForce 7600GT Fatal1ty from XFX (the version clocked at 650MHz core as opposed to the cheaper 560MHz) which is a bit fancier when compared to our standard run of the mill 7600GT. We're going to have a look at exactly what the cards are capable of when running in SLI but also by itself. Being a special hyped up version bearing the Jonathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel branding, they are quite a lot more expensive than regular reference style 7600GT's but it'll be interesting to see what type of extra performance and features we see by spending some more cash.

If you are disposed to spend enough money, you won't be disappointed by this graphic card. It's slower than the GTX, but it has anyway outstanding performances in DX9...We will see in future how this card will behave with DX10.

The 7600 GT Fatal1ty graphics card has a core clock speed of 650MHz and a memory clock of 1.6GHz. What is very impressive is that while the clock speeds are significantly overclocked the 7600 GT Fatal1ty graphics card is passively cooled. That's right; this card uses no fans and still reaches impressive levels of performance.

The particular variant we are looking at is the XXX edition which has the highest core and memory speed - the other OC version from XFX is the Extreme edition which has slightly higher clock speeds than the base model but lower than XXX edition. There is also of course a default (base) model although we have seen the performance of that from the MSI GTS 320MB product offering already. Let's continue on and see what XFX have for us package wise before we check out the card and then later its performance. It is actually worth spending more on the factory overclocked edition or is it a waste of money?

XFX recently took the 7600 GT to a new level by introducing the fastest factory clocked 7600 GT video card yet. They teamed up with Fatal1ty to create this XFX 7600 GT Fatal1ty Professional Series card. There are several companies that have done this in the past like Abit, Creative, and Zalman. The XFX 7600 GT Fatal1ty card comes in with a 650Mhz core clock, and a 1.6 Ghz memory clock straight out of the box.

The XFX 8800 GTX XXX arrived Technic3D. The Graphic Card XFX NVIDIA 8800 GTX XXX with 630 MHz Core and 1.000 MHz Memory better than others OC High-End Graphic Cards? Technic3D will see that, with Overclocking, in the following Review.

Bottom line - XFX's XXX Edition GTS cards are high on performance but distinctly average when price is factored in. Right now, given a choice, we'd go for the 320MiB version.
