"The World Cup comes along every four years and with it the pageantry that such a great sporting occasion brings. That and the requisite EA Sports game tie-in, which is an opportunity unmissed since 1998. While FIFA games in the past have been hit and miss affairs, right now they are riding high having wrestled the crown away from Pro Evolution Soccer to become widely regarded as the best football game on the block. With an already impressive FIFA 10 available to players, there were question marks about whether this game could improve on the existing formula coming out just a few months after the franchise update."

"A heatsink that breathes, say what? Yep today I've got for review the Zaward Vapor120 that is a breathable heatsink On the heatsink fins are dimples that allow the cooler to breathe thus improving heat exchange efficiency by up to 30%. Does it work? Well that's what we're here to find out. I'm testing it on my Corei5 750 CPU and i've put it up against a couple other coolers for comparison, so read on to learn more about this cooler and see how it performs.. "

"Sparkle Computer Corp, the same company that has manufactured nVidia-based video cards for many years, is now branching into the power supply market and looking to make a big splash doing so. For review today we have one of their new Gold Class power supplies in the 1250W variety. The Gold Class gets its name in part due to the 80Plus Gold rating, reserved for those power supplies exceeding 90%+ efficiency. Couple that with six +12V rails rated for 20A each and you've got a 120A claimed peak load handling capability, that's a whopping 1440W!"

"Today for review I've got a video card from Sparkle Computer Corp, it's an Nvidia based GT240 that has 512MB of ram built-in. With those specs I'm sure you can guess it's not really a card you'd want for gaming, but it has it's place nonetheless. It does feature a native HDMI port, along with both VGA and DVI ports on it, so no adapter needed for HDMI which is nice. The card is also rather inexpensive and virtually silent, it would make a good choice for an HTPC I'm sure. So read on... "

"A number of years ago Creative was well known in several markets including graphics and sound cards. As time has progressed the company has evolved their product catalogue into areas which made commercial sense such as webcams and pocket video cameras and moved away from the graphics business. Their core products have continued to be audio related, whether it be portable media players, soundcards or headphone and recently they released some World of Warcraft branded headsets. Today we have the wireless model on our test bench, join us as we find out what effect it has on our gaming experience."

?We're looking at the Kingwin Lazer Gold 1000W power supply, a sleek kilowatt modular unit that promises power for those on a tight budget. More importantly, however, is that it comes 80PLUS GOLD certified, a rarity to be found amongst kilowatt power supplies, with only a handful available on the market. It also comes with a very competitive price tag considering what's being offered in return here. Sounds promising.?

"At CES Cameron and I paid a visit to QNAP?s booth to take a look at several new NAS appliances and servers the company launched at the show. Little did we know that the new product lineup would be so extensive, almost a top to bottom refresh. The first of the new dual core Intel Atom products has been here for a month now and I have to come right out and say that I am very impressed. It is a good thing too since the TS-419P TurboNAS we reviewed last year didn?t fare as well as we were hoping. Even though the TS-419P and TS-459 look nearly identical outside, the two are completely different inside. The 419P used a Marvell processor and in our testing we felt that it and the firmware held the NAS back from performing as well as it could have. The latest run of firmware from QNAP and the new dual core Atom processor have now cleared those issues, but it comes at a higher initial cost to users. We will touch more on the cost and the additional productivity in the conclusion."

"The Vulcan is one small case, but you can put some big parts in it, and at the $69.99 price point is very affordable for an enthusiast case. LAN party goers may like this case for the fact it can accommodate large video cards like the ATI Radeon HD 5970 and its handy dandy carrying handle. The compact 16" x 7" x 16.6" body is approximately 40% smaller than the typical full tower PC case.."

"Today for review I?ve got the Microsoft KIN One from Verizon Wireless, it?s a phone that has been talked about for quite some time and many people have been eagerly awaiting its launch. Is it all that? Yes and No honestly, overall I like it, but it?s far from perfect, it has many issues that need to be addressed. The phone overall is unique, it?s a very social centric phone, but being a social phone I would have to ask why there isn?t an IM client built-in or a calendar. I found the camera to be lacking quite a bit, I expected a bit more from a 5MP camera, but it?s not that good really. Read on to see a lot of pictures of the interface and learn more about the KIN One.. "

We are going to look at a tri channel memory kit from Gskill today which we will compare vs a high performing Mushkin and Corsair kit. We are going to see what type of speeds we can expect at stock and also what we can do when it comes to overclocking.

"Over the years many computer users have migrated away from desktop systems to laptops and netbooks as the price on portable machines has gone down. That doesn't mean there isn?t a market for desktops, it just means the desktop market has shrunk over the years. Today I am looking at the first AIO machine that has come across my desk. The AIO is the Gateway ZX4800-06. If you don't want a notebook, but you are tired of looking at that tower under or beside your desk, the Gateway ZX4800-06 might be a good option. Read on to find out how well the machine performs."

The Hitachi CinemaStar is an established family of hard disk drives with no less than five different models available. They are all targeted at consumer electronics (CE) applications, such as PVRs, DVRs and CCTV systems. Hence, they have a feature set that focuses on this segment : - Optimized to record multiple, simultaneous video streams, Hitachi SmoothStream technology supports the ATA*7 streaming command set, and SCT provides time-limited error recovery and thermal monitoring capabilities. Because IT data and video streams have different throughput demands, AV-Zoning allows the definition of various error recovery procedures for predefined ranges of data blocks or zones to enable the system to effectively deliver critical data and time-sensitive video content from a single drive. Other features that help tailor this drive for streaming video applications include Read Continuous mode, which helps manage error recovery for video streams, and Media Maintenance enhancements, preventing track wear-out from around-the-clock operation. - Leveraging eighth generation power management technology, as well as power-saving HiVERT innovations pioneered on Hitachi 2.5-inch notebook drives, this new CinemaStar hard drive provides up to 18% idle power savings over the previous model, delivering best-in-class power management and thermal emissions. - All CinemaStar products are enhanced with silent-seek acoustics to deliver bedroom-quiet operation, and the Hitachi patented load/unload ramp mechanism that helps prevent disk wear and protects the disk during non-operation. This review will be looking at one of Hitachi's latest 7200 RPM CinemaStar model - the 500 GB CinemaStar 7K1000.C hard disk drive. Let's take a look!

Description: It has been a while since APH Networks' last foray into the Mini-ITX world, with the most recent review dating back to August of last year already. The Lian-Li PC-Q07 was a simple yet elegant chassis that proved very popular among our readers. Of course, with the current technology trend, it would just be stupid (Frankly speaking haha) if we simply ignored this category of products, as there is such a huge demand for low cost, small form factor solutions in today's ultra competitive market. Be it for light office tasks, home theater setups, low power servers, or even as a personal internet/network router (Seriously, some geek by the name of Zachary Hopkins, who happen to be on the staff team, recently built a dual core router at home with more RAM than the average computer a few years back...), the mITX form factor has become a staple in more homes and businesses than ever before. With increasing amounts of people turning toward this form factor for new and innovative uses of computing hardware, it probably isn't surprising that an influx of associated components began to saturate the market. These accessories are no longer made for very small niches -- even the casual enthusiast looking for a system for any of the listed reasons above and beyond probably have their wallets ready for such a build already. With all this said, it is only appropriate for us to take further steps into examining more Mini-ITX products. While our previously reviewed Lian-Li mITX chassis is designed to accommodate a standard sized ATX power supply, what we have today is a relatively compact chassis from Thermaltake, a renowned company for having an extensive lineup of excellent cases, power supplies, heatsinks, and more. The Thermaltake Element Q is part of Thermaltake's Element series of cases; which consists of the Element S, Element T, Element V, as well as the Element G, which we also reviewed last year. Without further delay, let's take a closer look at the Thermaltake Element Q, and see just how well it stacks up in today's market for Mini-ITX dominance!
