Just over two years ago there were only five companies involved in Solid State Drive technology, and as of January 2010 there are nearly 140 names in the business. In this article Benchmark Reviews inspects the Toshiba T6UG1XBG Solid State Drive controller, which is used in the third-generation Kingston SSDNow V+ SNV325. The Toshiba T6UG1XBG SSD controller is a 43nm part, with a maximum rated read speed of 230MBps and write-to performance peaking at 180MBps.

?One thing many iPhone users have complained about is the battery. If you are using mobile web, GPS, or an app that using the internet you will see your battery life start to die very quickly. For this reason many companies have made charging packing and iPhone cases that have batteries in them to charge your iPhone. Today we will be looking at the iConn+ iPhone Battery Case from Nitrox, a newcomer to the iPhone accessory market. Let?s take a look?"

"A month after NVIDIA launched the GeForce GT 220 graphics card
they rolled out the GeForce GT 240, to further fill the performance void
between the GT216-based GT 220 and the GeForce GTS 250 that had been
around since March. The $100 GeForce GT 240 has received some praise for
its low-power consumption while delivering a decent level of performance
for being a mid-range graphics card, but of course, those reviews have
been when tested under Microsoft Windows. We finally have our hands on a
GeForce GT 240 graphics card from the folks over at ECS Elitegroup to
see how this GT215 graphics card performs under Linux."

Obviously these are spectacular results. At no moment we reached critical temperatures, not even at 4GHz. This is truly remarkable since the Intel Core i7 920 can be run at 80°C ? 85°C without risking anything.
Also, remember that I used software which loaded all four cores to 100% simultaneously. In reality this will almost never happen. Therefore these maximum temperatures are truly the extremes.
The results point to the conclusion that the gains by using two fans are minor. I actually found the Scythe Gentle Typhoon fans to have a great balance between cooling performance and noise level at 1450RPM.
As a little curiosity I also ran the CPU at 3.4GHz without HyperThreading enabled. The result was quite significant. With the HT activated the average temperature was 63°C, with HT deactivated the average temperature was 56°C, which is considerably lower?.

"Liquid nitrogen performance on the Koolance CPU-LN2 Rev2 Pot is so far improved that it is surprising the Rev1 and Rev2 came from the same company. The rather radical change in design is responsible for this excellent LN2 performance and with a few more tweaks will really fly with heavy loads. Intel's upcoming Gulftown hex-core processors have already been shown to run hotter than current Bloomfield quad-core processors but I feel the CPU-LN2 Rev2 will easily handle the upcoming Intel six-core Gulftown processors..."

"The board earns good marks for having all the necessary interfaces, even the symmetrical CrossFire, as well as the complete set of BIOS overclocking settings, and, more importantly, the high-quality technical implementation of all of the above."

"Thermaltake's ISGC-100 is a low profile low noise heatsink for small and compact PC chassis. Three 6mm diameter copper heatpipes ensure good thermal conduction from the base to the fins of the 70mm tall heatsink. A 92mm PWM fan scales in speed from 600-1600RPM, directing airflow down through the horizontal aluminum fins of the heatsink. In real world terms the ISGC-100 heatsink ranges from moderately audible to completely silent."

With a claim of "nearly 30-years of touch innovation" under its belt, HP is no stranger to touch-input technology. The company has recently integrated touch input into a number of its consumer and business product lines, such as tablets, notebooks and perhaps the most well-known, its line of TouchSmart all-in-one desktop PCs.
Taking advantage of a good thing when they see it, HP has produced a few major updates to the TouchSmart line, culminating in the latest release of the TouchSmart series, the 20-inch TouchSmart 300 series and 23-inch TouchSmart 600 series. Other than screen size and specs, both the 300 and 600 series have much in common, including a relatively thin chassis, glossy 16:9 widescreen display, and a plethora of touch-enabled features and applications.

"Zerotherm's Core 92 heatsink is a compact Intel-only thermal solution designed for socket 775 Core 2 Duo, socket 1156 Core i5 and socket 1366 Core i7 processors. Standing just 121mm tall, the Core 92 heatsink weighs a modest 470 grams and has a rather atypical footprint of 103 x 93mm. The heatsink is equipped with a single 92mm PWM fan, sandwiched between its two columns of aluminum cooling fins."

Intel's new Core i5 661 processor combines graphics controller, memory controller, PCI-Express interface and a Dual Core all inside one compact processor package. Utilizing Intel's latest 32 nm process there is quite some added potential for power saving and overclocking, but is the integrated chipset up to the task too?

In our first solid-state drive round-up last year we quickly learned that a SSD can only be as good as the controller working the magic behind it. That was the last time we checked a solid state drive from G.Skill, who is better known for its overclocking friendly memory modules.
Last November G.Skill announced the Falcon II series featuring an updated Indilinx ECO controller, which as you may have guessed provides support for 34nm NAND flash memory as well as the latest firmware from Indilinx (v1819) with improved support for the Windows 7 TRIM command.
With TRIM support enabled the new G.Skill Falcon II SSDs should be able to operate at peak performance consistently over time rather than suffering the common degradation problems of early MLC-based drives. It can't be emphasized enough that the controller's efficiency plays a major role in solid state drive performance, so we are eager to see how the new Indilinx ECO-based SSD pairs up against the competition.

"The Revoltec Mouse W104 arrived Technic3D. The Revoltec Wired Mouse W104 uses an optical sensor and 1600dpi sampling rate to provide precision for any application. The dpi switch integrated beneath the scroll wheel makes it easy to switch between two sampling rates (800 or 1600 dpi). Technic3D will see the functions in the following Review."
