Apple Wins Patent Fight Against Samsung
Apple won a patent infringement lawsuit on Thursday in UK High Court, allowing the company to keep using a technology related to mobile data communications over 3G networks.
The case was brought in court by Samsung. The Korean company
had said that Apple had infringed three patents related to technology used in Apple products to allow phones to send and receive data over 3G networks. The British court found all three claims invalid.
Samsung said it was disappointed by the court's decision and would consider whether to file an appeal.
The case comes a week after Galaxy smartphone manufacturer failed to secure an iPhone ban in Japan.
Last summer, the Korean company won a legal victory over its California-based rival when another British judge ruled its Galaxy tablet should not be blocked from sale in Britain.
