The retail package of the Skullcandy Dime 3 is small and at the front, you can view the product itself, and at the back more information.
Opening the retail box you will find the Dime 3 Earbuds, the charging case, three ear gels (S, M, L), a USB-C Charging Cable, and a quick user guide. The product can be found online at the official online store for 29.99 Euro (white/black) while the limited edition costs 39.99 Euro and has many different colors.
The main attraction of this product is the carrying case that can be fitted at a keychain.
The case itself is 6.4 cm (L) x 3.9 cm (W) x 2.4 cm (H) and weighs around 34gr.
Both earphones are hooked into the case for charging them and the case itself has a built-in battery for further charging on the go. The case and the earphones are made out of plastic and are certified IPX4 for resistance against water splashes.
We can say that the Dime 3 is comfortable and the included three S, M, and L ear-tips will get you a comfortable fit. The product design follows the deep in-ear fit that can pressure your ear when you use the build-in hardware controls. A negative side effect is that you could accidentally hit the controls if you plan to re-adjust the fit. The earphones have an LED to showcase the working statues of the product and also the Skullcandy logo.
Looking at the online manual, users will find the controls for either earbud. We can say that controls are ok with a click feeling and good response. Users will appreciate the audible feedback when performing connection, pairing, or disconnecting.
As we mentioned previously, due to their design, when pressing the controls, you will feel pressure inside your ear. This design also has it's positives, since you cannot lose them easily, very good for the gym and running. For proper installation, Skullcandy suggests first placing the bud in your ear at an angle, then rotating minimally to the front or back to secure it in place. Your earbuds should feel comfortable and stable. For optimal acoustic performance, you also want to be sure your ear gel creates a nice seal just inside your ear canal. Dime 3 comes with 3 sizes of ear gels to help you find the best fit. Try each size provided to see which fit works best for you.
