Recently at Computex 2024, be quiet! announced a new CPU cooler that sits below both the Dark Rock Pro 5 and the Dark Rock Elite series, the Dark Rock 5. This new cooler promises, good performance and affordable price, at least compared with its older and bigger brothers.

Dark Rock 5 is the compact embodiment of extremely high cooling performance and high compatibility. With effortless installation and silent fans, it is designed for passionate gamers of all kinds. Its asymmetrical design and cut-outs on the heat sink guarantee a high RAM and VRM cooler compatibility, while 6 copper heat pipes and a Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM fan provide perfect cooling at a virtually inaudible operation. The nickel-plated copper base is compatible with liquid metal thermal grease. And the Dark Rock 5 looks great too, with its special black coating with ceramic particles and magnetic mesh top cover.

Dark Rock 5 is the successor of Dark Rock 4 and represents the compact embodiment of extreme cooling performance and high compatibility. With effortless installation and a silent fan, it is designed for passionate gamers of all kinds.

A modified Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM fan pushes fresh air through the heatsink to keep it cool. Except for the fixed mounting corners and higher RPM, it is identical to the retail version of the Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM. At its maximum speed of 2,100 rpm, the noise level is only 29.8 dB(A).

The high level of compatibility with the memory and VRM heatsinks on the motherboard is achieved with a cleverly designed aluminum heat sink and a slight bend of the six heat pipes, resulting in a slightly offset placement to the left of the CPU socket. The fan is attached with metal clamps and can technically be adjusted in height, but this is unnecessary as it does not hang over and block the RAM sticks anyway. A second 120mm fan with 25mm thickness can be installed as exhaust with the included clamps.

The Dark Rock 5 is available in retail as of June 2024 at a recommended retail price of $69.90 / €69.90.
