AMD Announces New A-Series APUs
AMD has added the AMD A10-7800, A6-7400K and the A4-7300 Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) to its A-Series 4th generation APU lineup.
The A10-7800 APU features up to 12 Compute Cores (4CPU + 8 GPU), AMD Radeon R7 Series graphics and it is based on the Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA). Its CPU is clocked at 3.9 GHz/
3.5 GHz, the GPU at 720 MHz, it has 4MB L2 cache and the DDR3 memory runs at 2133 MHz. TDP is at 65W/45W.
It offers support for UltraHD (4K) resolutions and new video post processing enhancements for 1080p video upscaling. In addition, with a configurable thermal design power option (cTDP), the A10-7800 allows enthusiasts to fine-tune for maximum performance. The AMD A10-7800 APU will be available for purchase in Japan starting today, with worldwide availability at the end of July.
In addition, AMD introduced of the AMD A6-7400K and AMD A4-7300 APUs. With the unifying FM2+ infrastructure for AMD APUs, users are enabled to build smaller form factors for gaming and home theatre PC (HTPC) systems.
The A6-7400K (2 CPU + 4 GPU compute cores) has Radeon R5 graphics. The CPU cores are clocked at 3.9 GHz/3.5 GHz, the GPU at 756 MHz, has 1MB L2 cache and its TDP is 65 W/45 W. Last of all, the A4-7300 APU sports only a pair of CPU cores, while its R3 graphics engine has only one dedicated GPU core.
In addition with AMD Radeon memory, users can benefit from AMD AMP technology to help boost their gaming experience with the AMD Radeon R9 2400 Gamer Series memory which has been tested and certified for AMD A10 APUs.
