RW Writing Tests

We used Nero 5.5.5.6 for writing CDs in maximum RW writing speed for all the tested drives. For our tests we used Ricoh's 10x HS-RW media:

The ASUS CRW2410S didn't perform very well with the Ricoh HS-RW media. The drive needs 498secs, while the WAITEC only 492mins. The erase time of ASUS is rather high (70secs) when the WAITEC needs exactly 60secs.

- Packet Writing Tests

We used Ahead InCD v3.12b for the Packet Writing tests. We used TDK HS-RW media and we formatted it. The formatted disc revealed 530mbs of free space. We copied a 403 MB file (403.147 kbs) from a Hard Disk (on the same PC as the writers) to the formatted RW media-using explorer (we dragged and dropped) and we completed the test twice to eliminate possible time measurement faults and user errors:

The ASUS CRW-2410S performed very well and its writing (7.20X)/reading (7.18X) performance is at the same levels as the competition offers. The WAITEC MEGALUS is slightly slower (7.15X/7.0X). The PleXWriter PX-W2410A is the faster drive at this test.
