Grand opening of the Blue Laser Room - Media Tech Expo

Grand opening of the Blue Laser Room - Media Tech Expo

Optical Storage May 12,2005 0

Tuesday at 10:30, AudioDev revealed the secrets of the Blue Laser Room at Media Tech Expo. This was the official launch of the CATS analyzers for 3rd generation optical media formats.

"Whether you are a developer of blue laser technology, media, drives or materials, AudioDev is ready to support you with a CATS analyzer that will set the standard for measurement of the next generation optical media", says Michael Engstrom, President of AudioDev USA Inc.

"Already early 2004 we sold the firsts laboratory set-up test systems. Now at Media-Tech we launched the reference class CATS analyzers. The blue laser room at our both #3010 is a visit you should not miss to learn more about Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD testing", he continues. The CATS B100 BD Pro measures the read-only type disc. The CATS B600 BDR Pro measures the write-once type and the re-writable type as well. Later this year, analyzers for HD-DVD will be launched.

The drives are a result of a joint venture between AudioDev AB and Toptica Photonics AG. The drives are intended to set the de-facto standard for measurement of blue laser optical media. AudioDev has used its unique experience in designing optical media analyzers to fully optimize the drive performance. The new architecture and design is very flexible. It communicates with the host computer using TCP/IP and has a small footprint which makes it efficient in terms of workspace.
