Panasonic Announces Second-generation 4x Blu-Ray Writer
Matsushita Electric Industrial announced the release of the new LF-PB271JD Blu-Ray burner in the Japanese market, the company's first burner to support 4x recording for Blu-Ray.
Available in November, the LF-PB271JD comes with a serial ATA interface and it is compatible with Windows XP and Vista operating systems.
Basic specifications of the drive also include 4x writing for both single layer and double-layer (50GB) BD-R media, 2x reading/writing for BD-RE (both 25GB and 50GB) and 4x/2x reading for BD-R/ROM and BD-RE, respectively.
The drive is also compatible with the DVD and CD formats, offering 16x writing for DVD-R/+R, 8x for DVD+R/-R DL, 6x for DVD-RW, 8x for DVD+RW and 5x for DVD-RAM. The LF-PB271JD is also a 40x/24x/40x CD burner.
