While at the back there is information in various languages
At the box, you will find the mouse itself, an additional set of mouse feet, and a small intro guide.
The mouse itself comes in black and it's wired with a long 1.8m USB braided cable. As mouse has "an ergonomic" design and feels nice on the hand. The building material is ABS with a nice texture and there are 8 buttons onboard. At the right side and top, you will find A-RGB lighting that syncs with the ARGB lighting of your system. There is Windows software available on the official Sharkoon website, so all settings are set via the mouse itself.
At the bottom, you will see the five rubber feet, the optical sensor, and one button for cycling the ARGB lighting.
More explanation of the mouse buttons is found below:
The mouse, at least in our hands, does feel nice to hold. It has an ergonomic design and for medium to big hands is pleasant to work with. On the left side, it has a textured surface to help with grip, while the left/right main mouse buttons are nice to click. The two buttons at the top can cycle between the various DPI settings, while with each press the LED color flashes to show that the DPI setting changed.
There are two side buttons, which are used for back-and-forth actions in windows folders. The Rapid fire button can be found useful in some cases if you need it. Overall we feel the biggest negative of this mouse is the fact that it doesn't have any kind of additional software to change buttons mappings, settings, etc. After all, this is a low-priced mouse (14.99 Euro) so we can forget all of this and just enjoy it.
The used sensor A825, is a high-performance CMOS process optical mouse SOC with full speed USB interface. It is based on Instant 4th generation Optical Navigation Technology with a high-precision algorithm that measures changes in sequential surface images and provides higher precision positioning than any previous generation. Its resolution can reach 12800 CPI. The Max frame rate is 7000 fps. The Max speed is 60 inch/s. Max acceleration is 20 g.
The number of resolution levels is up to 6, and each level has 23 values to be selected. In backlight application, A825 supports up to 10 kinds of backlight effects, and a specific function key can be defined to switch the backlight effects. A825 provides 32kb storage capacity and supports a strong customization function. All mouse functions, such as buttons, X/Y movements, multimedia, MACRO, resolutions, VID/PID, backlight colors and effects, etc., can be defined by users.
Overall we liked the Sharkoon Shark Force 3 for its design, low retail price, and good specifications. The product comes with 2-year warranty and we can highly suggest it for office use and light gaming.
