AGEIA Debuts PhysX Powered Games

AGEIA Debuts PhysX Powered Games

Gaming Jan 8,2007 0

Responding to the ever increasing gamer appetite for more interactive and immersive game-play, AGEIA Technologies has unveiled a series of new and upcoming hardcore titles that harness the power of PhysX this week at the CES. AGEIA will preview highly anticipated titles- CellFactor: Revolution developed by Artificial Studios and Warmonger developed by NetDevil to select press and visitors in suite #73024, located in Sands.

CellFactor: Revolution combines widespread environmental destruction, psychic combat and realistic cloth and fluid effects to produce an intense and innovative first-person shooter. Players will take one of three unique characters, Black Ops, Bishop and Guardian, through industrial settings in the near future on Earth. After a series of cataclysmic events, the planet is now dominated by a superpower dedicated only to the advancement of technology – no matter what the human cost. This technology forms the basis of a cybernetically-enhanced humanoid army, whose telekinetic powers are used to maintain relative order across the planet. A scattered human resistance fights for one last shred of freedom, tapping into psychic abilities in an attempt to conquer what appears to be an invincible enemy. Gamers can play as characters from either side of this war.

In Warmonger Operation: Downtown Destruction, the year is 2029 and the Global Corporate Wars have begun. The game is set against an apocalyptic setting, when two of the largest military spenders, PolyChem Oil and General Energy, clashed in a dispute over a large cache of Iranian oil fields. When the conflict escalated, an all-out war took shape on US soil. The game is staged for players to take down an entire city; one block at a time. As maps are won, a larger tactical influence is then triggered in the next, or surrounding, map(s). Each map instance will play differently as the sheer destruction of map elements forces players to adapt and find new ways to win or defend their objectives. Every round leads you closer to dominating the web of maps that make up the entire city and players have the ability to raise their ranking in a class, gaining extra abilities for high performance. Operation: Downtown Destruction is part of a longer series involving distinct periods from the episodic Warmonger story.

The game previews will be held in the AGEIA private meeting rooms located in SANDS 73024 and 73124 for select press and visitors.

CES attendees will also get a chance to road test a new pre-released game level of CellFactor: Revolution in booths hosted by AGEIA partners including Maximum PC. Other titles showcased by AGEIA this week include the recently released "Update 4" to NCsoft’s vehicular MMORPG title Auto Assault; a sneak peek at recent Eidos pick-up, Infernal; and exclusive PhysX editions of sports sim Stoked Rider: Alaska Alien: and FPS BoS: Black-out Saigon.

In addition to these game previews, AGEIA Technologies will also officially launch its "Winter PhysX Bundle" program via e-tailers serving customers in Europe. Available through select e-tail partners, those who purchase AGEIA PhysX Add-In-Boards from BFG Technologies or ASUS will also receive free of charge two full games to enjoy the enhanced gaming experience only PhysX can bring. Games included in the bundle are: Stoked Rider: Alaska Alien and BoS: Black-out Saigon.
