Apple Issues Security Warning For New iOS 13.1 and iPadOS 13.1 Updates
Apple iOS 13.1 has been released delivering fixes for important problems in iOS 13, but still Apple has issued a new warning to millions of iPhone and iPad users.
Apple said that both iOS 13.1 and its new iPadOS 13.1 have a flaw which enables third-party keyboards to attain “full access” to your iPhones and iPads “even if you haven't approved this access”.
An upcoming software update will fix an issue that impacts third-party keyboard apps. This issue applies only if you've installed third-party keyboards on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
This issue does not impact Apple’s built-in keyboards. It also doesn't impact third-party keyboards that don't make use of full access.
Apple promised to fix the issue in an upcoming software update. Expect an iOS 13.1.1 minor point update to be just the first of several updates Apple releases over the next weeks.
Third party keyboards have been very popular. So if you’d like to see which, if any, third party keyboards you have installed on your iPhones and iPads go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards.
