addlink AddGame A93 4TB NVME SSD
3. Performance
For testing the addlink ADDGAME A93 4TB NVME SSD, we got an AMD X570 PC system running Windows 11 with all updates installed. The AJA Test System shows a quick overview of the drive's reading/writing speed, having around 5.91GB/sec writing and around 5.94GB/sec reading performance.
Passing to a more well-known benchmark, the ATTO Disk Benchmark shows the performance with various file sizes from 0.5Kb, 1Kb, and 2Kb up to 8192MB file sizes. The drive didn't perform very well with this software, we have seen similar behavior with other drives also.
Passing to the newest ATTO Disk Benchmark 4.01.0F1, again performance was very good and reached 6.91GB/sec reading and 5.99GB/sec writing performance with 64MB file size. We did notice some slowdowns during the 24MB and 32MB file sizes, which is probably due to the continued work load of our testing, in normal situations you will not experience such performance drops.
CrystalDiskMark 3.0.4
CrystalDiskMark 6.0.2
CrystalDiskMark 7.0.0
CrystalDiskMark 8.0.4
addlink does advertise the A93 series as capable of reaching 7.4GB/sec reading and 6.5GB/sec writing speeds and this is confirmed with both CrystaDiskMark v7.0 and v8.0 versions. Getting into AS SSD Benchmark software, the drive got a score of 7695 points.
Passing the IOMeter test, with our custom configuration test file, the drive performed low with around 24980 points and a high max I/O response time of 15.33ms, which was expected due to the use of the host memory buffer (HMB).
We made several runs and while the total I/Os per second didn't change, the max I/O response time did get increased up to 144ms.
While continuing testing the drive, we saw temperatures up to 75 Celsius, with an average of 59 Celsius, depending on the load. While the drive does have thermal protection safety, we believe it should be around 80 Celsius, which means in normal daily use, even with the small installed heatsink, you shouldn't expect performance drops.
