The companies announced that they were studying the way they will work together in order to provide complete testing services for the Blu-ray format, by combining the measurements provided by the AudioDev and dr. schwab IT testing equipment.

"A study with a major customer to both companies is being conducted, the AudioDev said in a statement. "The study aims at showing how the measurements from AudioDev and dr. schwab IT testers can be combined to provide an increased process window for the customer, and by such giving indications on how to offer other customers superior value in the future," the company added.

Headquartered in Sweden, AudioDev is a leader in providing complete solutions for quality assurance. Examples of applications where AudioDev is currently active are optical media, flat panels, and glass- and lens manufacturing.

dr. schwab Inspection Technology GmbH is a provider of high-end physical inspection equipment, mainly providing surface inspection solutions to control, monitor and optimize manufacturing processes of optical disc media.

The companies said that the strategic cooperation would mainly allow the companies to offer complete testing solutions when required by their customers, while it could also involve collaboration in other areas.
