Intel Opens Pop-up Retail Stores In Chicago, Los Angeles and New York

PC components Nov 22,2013 0

For the first time in its history, Intel is opening community-based, pop-up retail stores to show off some of the latest devices available this holiday season. Opening this week in the Nolita neighborhood in New York, Lincoln Park in Chicago and Venice, Calif., the Intel Experience Stores will give visitors the opportunity to interact with some of the latest Intel-based devices including laptops, tablets, 2 in 1 devices and portable all-in-one PCs.

The Intel Experience Stores will also enable people to test drive some of the latest Intel-based devices at home, providing the opportunity to truly "try before you buy." Visitors can purchase devices online from inside the store via BestBuy.com/IntelExperience. Intel also promises to offer special deals and promotions at the Intel Experience Stores throughout the holiday season.

The physical form of each Intel store will change up to three times per day. The stores will be a community hub in the mornings, transform into a technology showcase in the afternoons and then become an entertainment hot spot in the evenings, offering a variety of activities that will also change daily. Visitors will be served free coffee every morning, free movies every Friday, featured speakers from the community on a variety of topics and more. A full schedule of activities will be posted online at www.intel.com/stores and communicated through a weekly newsletter distributed in each neighborhood.

Intel will also work with neighboring businesses and organizations. For example, Intel will offer a technology recycling program through which visitors can bring a wide range of old technology, from small electronics to laptops and printers, to the store to be properly recycled. In exchange, Intel will make a cash or technology donation to local schools in the area.

The first Intel Experience Store will open in New York in the Nolita neighborhood on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 10 a.m. Additional Intel Experience Stores will open in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago on Monday, Nov. 25 and in the Venice neighborhood in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Nov. 26. The stores will be open through the holiday season, closing on Jan. 25, 2014.
