Intel's 8-core Skulltrail Overclocked to 6 GHz
Intel's 8-core Skultrail platform for entusiasts has been rportedly overclocked at 6GHz, confirming that dual-socket configurations offer overclocking headroom.
Enthusisats over the http://www.xtremesystems.org forums have managed to overclock all eight cores of the Skulltrail at 6006 MHz, which results to a total of 48 GHz of massive processing power.
Intel's Skulltrail gaming platform can take advantage of two quad-core Core 2 Extreme QX9775 processors, each clocked at 3.2 GHz, according to Intel. The CPUs come with 12 MB L2 cache.
