Lenovo Announces ThinkPad X1 Fold
Lenovo has released the first mobile PC "ThinkPad X1 Fold" that has a foldable organic EL display. The Wi-Fi model will be released on October 13, and a 5G model will be released later.
Make no mistake, that's not a smartphone, it is a unit with 13.3-inch screen (unfolded), and half that when folded. According to Lenovo, the design was inspired by traditional Japanese crafts such as parquet and triaxial textiles. The display can be displayed on two screens in a folded state, and when unfolded (landscape mode), it can be used independently by the built-in kickstand.
In addition, the "Lenovo Fold mini keyboard" used for input in the notebook PC style is a mechanism that magnetizes by sandwiching it in the housing when carrying it. It also supports handwriting input using the dedicated stylus "Lenovo Mod Pen". The display is a 13.3-inch organic EL with a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 dots, and the processor has an Intel Core Processor with Intel Hybrid Technology, 8GB of memory (onboard), and 512GB of storage SSD. It has a 5-megapixel IR camera and the network supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. The installed OS is Windows 10 (64bit).
The external dimensions are 299.4 mm wide, 236 mm deep, and 11.5 mm high when unfolded. When folded, it has a width of 158.2 mm, a depth of 236 mm, and a height of 27.8 mm. The weight is about 973g for the main body and about 173g for the keyboard. Battery life is said to be about 11.7 hours.
